As far as I know about 3-4 jobs in a year, now calls from advertiers, getting at least 1-2of them a week!

Not worth it, cancelled mine!

We have just recently upgraded from the free listing to the full paid listing.

Got a job in the first week which paid for the advertising for the year so well happy.
All in i think weve quoted 8 jobs and got 5 of them.

And yes you get the cash cow calls! Sooooo many of them its stupid, but that surely goes with advertising ???
Oooooo that is shiny!!

I've used them but don't anymore because its not worth it imo! Also once they've got you they continue to hound you with loads of phone calls etc!!

imo your better off spending the money on banner adds and ad words.

Last year yell didn't cover its cost so I dropped it if it had of covered its own cost on a year I would have carried on

I think its more popular in certain areas. I have advertised with them for years and every year they convince me to stay. I pay just short of £40 every month for 10 months, again this year they promised me the earth with monthly calls to see how I am getting on. It is nearly a full year and never had 1 call from them.
For this year I will still do the yellow papers as they give you a free listing on yell.com but other than that nothing fancy.
But heres another thought. Is yellow pages still worth it??

I had an ad in yellow pages when I was tiling and plastering and never got a sniff of a job after paying £800 for an add so cancelled the dd and moved house lol .

The thing is with advertising now when anyone wants anything it's google straight away . It's only the old dears these days who use yell or Thompson etc
Everyone who I ask about when they do searches etc they all say google is there first port of call .

Just simply take your notes out of your wallet, and set fire to them instead . . . . at least you will get some warmth from the fire !

YELL con a lot of newbies with sales dream figures  - you might say so what?- but they also contribute to new business failures because the payments are so high with such poor returns it can easily pull folk under

ive heard of many over the years this has happened to, innocent starters conned into big ads by quick talking yellow pages sales

almost happened to me Years ago , as a youngster but i cancelled in the nick of time -id never recommend to advertize with YELL

Was just going through life thinking about what trades to do and I've changed a few times but I always ended back into welding and fabricating .
Until 2011 now I'm a window cleaner lol .

But keep away from yellow pages lol .

Absolute waste of money. They try tricking you with that online thing they make you log into, will give them another week if nothing comes from it as i was promised by the sales person i will just block the direct debit
