I cannot believe that you have said that. Maybe you havent a relative or friend thats been killed or is a triple amputee, but theres plenty that have.

Its a good job the rest of us can be bothered and care.

Mods please delete this post as some other forum members have been sickened by this response too  >:(

Micky, isn’t it the Government duty to look after them? After all they are the ones who send these poor chaps to war, A war which we shouldn’t have been in.

exactly Dani, unfortunatley, they dont. You will be surprised how many are actually living rough cos they are suffering from PTSD, and the Government wont house them. A good freind of mine had recently taken his life due to PTSD. It just took the argueing from Argentina to start it off in him again, he was not cared for, found 3 days later in his car.

Many amputees do not receive benefits, because they can walk with their "stumpies".  But an obese workshy foreigner will get a house. car, and plenty of spending money.

I climb a mountain every year to help. and during these challenges, i meet the wounded and it annoys me when i hear what they are refused.

Everyone has their own views, but to say "its had its day" is in my mind disgusting!!!

That’s disgusting, I never knew that British Government will send his young men to war and then treat them like this?
I Think we all owe to get behind these young men and fight their corner, and force Government to help them, that way would be much better than to help them this way, because this way of doing it, its only a trickle compare to when all the Tax payers in this country pay to look after them.

But well done any way.

There are only 2 charities i support and they are RNLI and Help for Hereos, and that is because the government does not support them

sorry but the bit i have put in bold is (from the 4 people who i personally know who have returned from war with limbs missing) a load of crap, they have massively been looked after. to try and make your point by comparing them to workshy foreigners is in my opinion wrong.

the reason the people i know do not receive benefits because the amount of compensation the have received for their injuries makes their bank balance to high to qualify, 2 of my mates also are still on the army payrole, our goverment does a lot to help these men, and i think they are an easy target........  lets blame the goverment for not doing enough is such an easy warcry   these men deserve every penny but trying to use sensationalist comment like you have done is wrong.

good luck on your climb......I haven't donated anything as I already give to this caused through other means,

My brothers daughter, my niece, is in the army so I know what
goes on.
I have every sympathy with any soldier in the war zone but at
the end of day that's ultimately what they sign up for.
To do what the Government decides right or wrong sometimes.
Why is my view disgusting? Because you don't agree with it?

J' to be honest if the point you was trying to make was similar to mine  you should really have posted more than a single line saying......"Think to be honest it's had its day"

a brief explanation on what 'it' is that you believe has...'had its day' ......might have been a more prudent  response.

but lets look on the positive side. the more responses this post get, the longer it stays at the top, so the more people have the chance to read it :) :)

On this subject i think a long the lines of JandS, which is a first, but his first comment did come across as flippant.

as i said before, we all have our own views, but to just say "its had its day"...well, that is just out of order in my and other peoples opinions!!!!

Mike, each case has its own story, but there are plenty, including the amputee who wanted to walk on his stumpies to  give a football trophy, after he had leanrt how too, was then declined any benefit, cos he walked a certain distance.

I dont want to get involved anymore in this as i have close friends in situations, and i myself served in the forces, and i dont think they get the support they need or deserve. I fund raise for them year round, whether im doing a challenge or just giving a day up shaking a tin, and thankfully theres others who do too. Thanks to those who have helped

To be honest I was replying to the second message
about the views versus donations.

DCS

I am humbled, take it you don't agree with some things
I say........... ;D

Mick Hay

Why is it out of order? It's my take on it and it's not hurting
anybody.

They get paid including a generous guaranteed pension for the career THEY decided to embark on. They also get well funded for the unfortunate situation of injury.

Your asking people on this forum, people who have to fund there own future. iif injury occurs they don't get paid, same for holidays, have to subsides there own stake holder pensions that won't be worth jack when they retire.

I have to apologise but I won't be funding this organisation. Nor will i be contributing to the CEO Bryn Parrys £90000 salary.
