to a newbie they should at least triple that on regular cleans, and times that by about 6 on first cleans

If your in a hard
water area like me you will need an RO unit or you can just use resin but it will cost you a fortune.

My TDS is 60 and I pump straight through DI vessel up the pole.

An 11ltr vessel will last me about 2 months, using roughly 250 ltrs a day.

I let the pure water creep up to about 8 - 10, then change resin.

You can always use a second DI vessel to save new resin life a little longer, something that I will be doing in the not to distant future.

Hope this helps

I use fan jets sio can get away with that amount for regular 4 weekly cleans, each to their own I suppose.

Im sure you can get a TDS meter from your local aquatic centre, failing that just order one off ebay, there cheap.
