What are your van running costs trying to work a few things out so i can forcast growth ect

I have worked it out at around £112 per week this is worked out for the new van lasting 5 years not sure if this is to high or not.

I reckon it's going to be more than that then. Insurance, services, mot's, tax, tyres, fuel and interest. Probably closer to £130 for you depending on your mileage.

I intend to keep it for 10 years
Lets say I scrap it after 10 years thats £800 per year.

So £800per year.
Tax and insurance £600.
Mot and running costs lets say £100
Fuel £10 per week all my work is within 5 miles.

So £29 per week + fuel.

That figure is miles out. If you think you can run a van for £29 a week you will have a hole in your business plan.

This is how i have worked it out

£233 per month over 5 years for Van & wfp system loan £12,000
£20 Road Tax per month
£80 Insurance per month
£80 Fuel per month
£75 miscellaneous water production ro & di, poles, hose etc.
£488 x 12 / 48 = £122

So the weekly running costs are £122 tops with money left over  for  broken pole or the end of the world I would have thought it’s better to over do it than not have enough cash to cover the bills

Ok, so not for profit/loss or tax then. Also, I wouldn't include wfp stuff if I was to work ou my van running costs. £75 seems very high.

I got my van in Feb last year, fitted it out with 2man set up and within 5months it was fully paid off,

So I only got  insurance, road tax,fuel, mot

I bought my van (1999 Ford Fiesta 1.8 Diesel) nearly 3 years ago for just under a grand.

Excluding depreciation (A thousand max in any case), my running costs work out at just under 47 euro per week.

Do you intend to give the van away after 5 years.
If not then you reduce the value of the van from your 5 year costs.

I only have about £7000 to invest, is that enough to start the business? Don't forget the cost of sales and marketing!

I use my estate car, I just dont like vans. I use a trolley system and put the seats down in the back. The bottom seat comes up and is a secure bulkhead. nothing will get past it. I can carry 10 25ltr containers although I generaly carry 6 and I have always found this to be the best option for me. Most would disagree but on the weekend I put the seats back up and unload and it is then a family car again.
I also prefer it as it is low for the ladderson the roof.
