Extra long Xmas break
« on: January 01, 2013, 07:40:00 pm »

I've been told by the Doc's that I've got Glandular Fever and the only advice the Doc gave me was till rest until i'm better its been 2 weeks and i still feel no better yet.

Looked online and they say it could take 6 months to get back to normal  :o

Hi Bud

All I can say is take it easy. I have had it twice. First time was really bad about 9-12 months until I was back to normal and not feeling tired. The second time it was about 2 months.
If you over do it you will get worse than before, but I felt I need to do something, so I started to do light tasks like hoover a room etc. I would feel shattered after that and have to rest. The second time I took a medicial remedy called colloidal silver from holland and barret but I am not sure they sell it anymore.
Good luck dude hope u get better soon.

Hi Stu

Never had it, but I was told some time ago that recovery is a slow progress, and you may already have been told this by your doctor that

your spleen may have become swollen and can be damaged easily if not rested.

Take it easy for a bit matey.

Steve

I had it once and it can linger for years, literally. You think your getting better and then wham, out of it for another six weeks or so. Try and eat the best food you can and just rest as much as poss.

I feel for you, I had this once knocked me for six for about a month and took nearer to 6 months to get back to normal. Take it as easy as you can and when you get back working do shorter days for a while and allow plenty of rest between.
Cheers

I had something like when I was 14 - cost me a year of school. Used to wake up about 9am have breakfast, sleep until 6pm, eat and back to sleep again. Do about a week of this, gradually feel better, get up, feel ok then back to sleep again. Lasted about a year but I did grow about six inches taller during this time as well. Fine after that. Loads of blood tests, some showed anomalies others were clear, advice was ' rest '. Not very practical if you're running a business though - I wish you a speedy recovery.
