In my area I would say 80% of my work has come from flyers I have done myself, didn't get any calls from professional printed ones.

Yep I agree because with the professional ones people automatically think you may be more expensive/commercial maybe.

Just my thoughts

I have just ordered 1,000 sheets of nice card to print on from eBay for £30, I can cut these into 4 so 4,000 flyers for £30 + ink which is a quid a cartridge.

I am going to print a 2013 calendar on the back as sugested so people hopefuly dont just throw the flyers away!

I target top end and custys always say that my leaflets look so professional that's why they call me. They are sick of cheap nasty leaflets coming thru their doors

TBH for the sake of £99 I would get 5000 of these pinted up rather than print your own:

Flyers
I agree, printing flyers yourself ends up costing more

These are residential, just order some proper ones from saxo print or solopress. Pro ones are alot better than home made

Depends how good the flyers are,

Picked up 1x£400 4times a year, and 1x£65 2or3 times a month,

Commercial are different, I never flyer commercial, cover letter introducing my company address to the right person or face to face works lot better for me!

I have just come up with a new flyer,

I was going to print it on some thin card and then print a 2013 calendar on the back or something?

Can see what you mean though about the ladders, I have made the contact details at the bottom wider and shortened the ladders to make them not so long
