Hi AJ

I installed my own water harvesting system 4 months ago at my unit which has a 2000 sq ft roof space to collect from. I collect from the roof via a downspout with a home made particle filter in place and into 2 x 1000 litre IBC tanks. I use on average 600-800 litres per day and so far I have only had to resort to utilising tap water via my RO plant a couple of times. Basically it's been soo wet not needed any additional. The water collected comes off with a tds of 9 max so no need for RO just straight through my 22 litre di vessel into the van and off I go... After 4 months only just changed my DI resin as it pushed from zero tds to 2 a couple of weeks ago.   1000 litres saves me approx £2.50 per day and a half... Doesn't sound like a lot but add it over the year approx £450 or so.... And save on resin....

Also it has got me a couple of extra customers due to the "green" credentials.....

Cheers

Also, it may be worthwhile speaking to a local business with a big n roof if you have one as I believe they will get reduced water rates if they let you harvest off their roof???  Just a thought if you haven't got a big roof to pull off yourself!!!!!

Cheers

Ive got as far as connecting an IBC to one of my downspouts at home ... fills up quite quickly but not got round to getting water thru DI vessel into van yet.

Comes off roof into IBC at 009 TDS without any filter between downspout and IBC.

Is defo way foward especially as getting into pressure washing and will be using a bowser to start the job rather than waiting to fill from a customers tap.
