You need a decent hand tool and air movers. I use a cfr which I find great, you then decide on chemical due to nature of soiling and away you go. They are fairly easy, just don't overset and control the pressure if you can.

Same here been asked a few times but so far
turned them down.
Think Ashby's new steam extractor might be the
way to go with them.

Thanks Neil.  Which chemical would you suggest would be best for Urine etc , i was considering using my normal upholstery handtool it nothing special, but does the job and doesn't  seem to over-wet on suites, if you have a minute could you poss run through your procedure

It is important to qualify with the client the final results which are at best very limited.
They are hoping for all the stains to come out which 99% of the time is impossible to
achieve as body fluids can be  permanent.

Yes you can clean and sanitise but thats it, hope that helps.

Tin hat time, but I find m power works well on bodily fluids. Also as mentioned in the previous post the results can be limited. I recently did a mattress with mood and two dog urine spots however the mattress was less than twelve month old and the urine stains less than two week.
I presprayed both sides and hand brushed in, 15 min dwell while I set up the machine at about 225psi and extracted, it looked brand new. Air mover on it for and hour and it was dry.
The main thing is the messing about prepping the room etc so reflect this in your charge. Most mattress will also require a good sanitation and I think if I'm correct that memory foam can react badly to over wetting so be wary.

Same as Neil, I use the Minitex to pad MP into mattress, then extract with Drimaster .......... the product works very well with perspiration and urine odours ....... plus it is widely asked for when there are kids allergies involved  ;)

You need to qualify its only going to be a surface clean and you may not be able to remove stains (although peroxide based products can work) . If urine etc has soaked through mattress you cant 'clean' the inside , at best you would have to saturate with appropriate product to treat it then dry. the fillers can be made of various coloured cloth of different fibre content which can be prone to dye blead.
I find cfr tool best.

Hi mike

I have a mattress to clean at one o'clock said the same as you did, stains are hard to remove as they are nearly always cotton based material,I use a prespray that kills dust mites as well up sold the sanitizing side of the clean not the stain removal aspect, and she was happy to go ahead, will be using my magma heater on the steam setting to help with the dry time.
You still busy I hope,I have been quiet this last week or so

Just going off my own experience it's been people who have wee, pooh, vomit, or want tide marks removing. The first 3 I don't feel confident I can clean to a standard for someone to sleep on so I say put it in a skip. If it's about the tide marks, unless you want to start faffing about I don't think its worth it.

I occasionally get the asthma/allergy types, I like doing those.

It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.
