Dont you think the " commercial window cleaners " should be a little larger.
My opinion is that your name is very visible, but not what you do .

I like the look of your vans & the idea of a brand name, but,
Like you say " one day " untill that day, i think what you do should be more visible.
Just my opinion  ;D

I also agree.

The first thing I saw was PRICE and my first thought was MONEY. When you talk "price" it's all about money - nothing related to services.

In my limited experience with Bosch and their 'anchor' (this is what the Germans call it) were linked together for years before they could remove the Bosch name and the 'anchor' said it all. That 'anchor' was very cherished and had to follow the exact measurements. Any resizing had to be approved and had to be done so its perspective wasn't distorted (just a small image of the original).

Shell is another example. 50 years ago their name was written onto the shell symbol and it has taken 50 years of global recognition and awareness to just show the symbol without the name.

Nike has taken more than 40 years to get rid of Nike and just leave their logo tick.

BT had their 'trumpet man'. Remove the BT and everyone in the UK would immediately recognise the business by the symbol alone.

In each example the name was linked to a logo and only once that name got universal recognition did the owners dare drop the name, leaving the symbol.

Every WFP window cleaner knows the name Ionics by their Reach and Wash logo. Take the name away and you still have a recognised company name with just the Logo. Its the logo that does the work, not the name.

The name JV Price Ltd isn't linked to anything. Take the name away and you have nothing.

Some vaid points but also many of brands based around a Family name.

Pretty sure the name J.V. Price Ltd is linked to window cleaning and moving on from the The Price Group.

Of course, eg. Robert Bosch was the founder of Bosch. I was once told what the Bosch anchor symbolised but I can't remember now. Who cares. When I see that logo, my mind is already drawn to this large company (9th biggest in the world 20 years ago) that produces intricate electronics for modern vehicles, power tools and accessories, household white goods plus major electronics components for the communications industries.

I personally like the logo you have on your website with the crane symbol extending from the V, but you need to find some way of including cleaning in this logo - at the moment that looks as though you are selling cranes. But I also understand what you are trying to achieve with just using the PRICE name.

The marketing guys will tell you a picture is worth a thousand words. You want the name PRICE to be synonymous with specialist cleaning but there isn't any picture to start the thought process - in my mind anyway.

Unfortunately there are many who can slag something off but who don't offer any constructive reasons why they feel this or that way.

Opinions are made within a few seconds, some positive and some negative, but adding detail as to why they feel the way they do usually isn't included as this requires another skill level.

In a way it reminds me of Formula 1 drivers; they can all race, but there aren't many who are skilled enough to be able to drive a car and then report back on handling characteristics and add constructive input to the technicians on how to improve their car's performance.

If you are incredibly well known locally then your name may mean something locally. But...

Morrisons Supermarkets - down here in Bristol and much of the South it was an unknown name until one went up at Cribbs Causeway. Ooop North everyone knew it.

As mentioned above unless you are incredibly well known in the area you operate then what you do should be way bigger than who you are. Otherwise it's just an ego trip.

When I sold office equipment we had a company name and we sold IBM, Olivetti and Canon office equipment - IBM and Canon were/are huge worldwide names. Olivetti was very well known in word processing/typewriters and computing - not so much now.

Our van fleet (three - LoL) had IBM, Canon and Olivetti writ large; what we did (office equipment, supplies and service) writ large and our company name pretty small. Phone number largest of all.

Now on my massive fleet of two vans my name and window cleaning are the same size and in my local rag when I advertise - "Window Cleaning" and "Phone number" is huge - my name is small.

It's a game of three halves!

It worked for Virgin, Murphy, Toni&Guy and Johnson & Johnson

If they can do it I will one day
