Very Quiet
« on: December 17, 2012, 10:45:06 pm »
I have recently started my buisness but finding it extremly quiet at the moment,I have advetised in local papers, I have yell.com on board and signed up for Google ad words. I was wondering if its the time of year ,or am I missing something, any advice from you cleanup veterans would really be appreciated. To start with I am aiming at the Domestic and office market and would like when, or if it ,picks up to invest in a wfp system too. Please can you offer any advice after all we all started out oneday. ;)

It's the busiest time for most who are established, maybe next Christmas you will have built up a client base. Jan traditionally is quiet.

For most who start out it takes at least twelve months before you start making a profit. Maybe the window cleaning is the best stop gap.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

If I was starting again from scratch i'd set up a window cleaning business instead! Seriouly, very low overheads, you can train a monkey to do it, sustainable income from day one.

Having said that I wouldn't actaully like to clean windows personally, it seems alot more physical than carpet cleaning and the UK weather isn't the best for it.

I've only just started out as well but fortunately have another business to earn a crumb for christmas.

I think with most businesses it takes a year or so for the phone to start ringing but you just have to keep trying.

It takes many years of hard work to build a successful CC business, where you have a large core of regular customers who wouldn't dream of using anyone else. So your one focus from day one has got to be on the quality of your work, because it is quality and not price, or anything else for that matter that have people call you back next time around.
It's though going for newbies in this economic climate.
