leased vans
« on: December 12, 2012, 05:39:48 pm »
does anyone know.....

With a lease van, are you allowed to, fit a system in it, and sign write, without any charge for damage etc?

Cos when you give it back, there will be bolt holes in the floor, and sign marks on the paint work!!!

Mick, if you can afford to lease one you,ll be able to afford to buy one and then when the payments finish its yours, you want have to worry about any mileage clauses or damage which may occur whilst owning it.
Some of the deals about at the minute make getting a new van easier than ever,

So do you buy brand new ronaldo?

Is the vat payment = initial deposit the norm?

Yes Mick always new, i always use the van as deposit and pay the vat upfront, our kid bought one last yr and just paid vat, but obviously by doing this your monthly payments will be a bit higher.

Sign writing will come off with a good clean.
Or wrap it.
Bolt holes-just get it re-plylined for about £140 on ebay and give it back!
They won't spot it and once your paperwork is done you're laughing!

DO NOT BUY BRAND NEW

buy 6/12 months old saves you a fortune on brand new and still give you waranty and a nearly new van, then get a either lease purchase or finance

Leasing - All smiles when they sell to you, all frowns when they take the van back.
It's a game of three halves!

If you put a tank in it you will take the plylining floor out - so keep it for when you return the van.

Your can also buy blank grommets in most motor factors that you can use to 'fill' the holes.

Just be aware that fitting a nice new plylining kit will raise suspicion - why did they change it - what are they trying to hide?

There are leases available when I worked in commercial sales that work like HP's. This means that you take on the risk of the vehicle rather than the finance house.

I would speak to a commercal saleman in a proper commercial dealership, tell him what you want and see what he says.

At one time we sold finance leases that worked in a similar way to HP - (not Contract Hire) you took on the risk and you owned the vehicle at the end of the day - the finance house wasn't concerned about a few holes in the floor. Most tradesmen want to fit racking and vansafes for example, and they will need to be secured through the floor from underneath.

But they need to be drilled with care and treated properly to prevent rust.

Sign writing is no problem - the decals come off with a hair drier (hot air gun will burn the paint). Tee Cut afterwards. Consider magnetic signage.

Great advice Spruce,  Protector coating on wood not a good idea the water gets under the wood and still rots the floor
