SPM is my spray of choice at the moment.

I hope I am not teaching you to suck eggs but-

It should be mixed 15 gr / litre in hot hand hot water ie you can put your hand under it but not hold it there, around 60 deg C. It should not be stored so mix enough for the job in hand.
I find 5 lt will clean a 4 bed house with little left over. It does not need over applying.
It must be brushed in properly- an electric brush is a help but a reasonably stiff pile brush will do if you are energetic.
10-15 mins dwell time to allow the oxy bi to work.
Rinse out with warm or cold water with the usual drying strokes.
I clean a lot of EOTs and some are really bad and come up well. A kettle is essential for cold EOTs
Do NOT mix with anything else this will stop the proper action taking place.
Keep it off your hands - no need to handle it or wet your hands- if you cannot help it wear the famous marigolds!!!
I hope this helps- it is quite spectacular at times very good the rest.
I use it for everything except real 'scrappers' where Shockwave is a last resort.

God must love stupid people---He made so many.

How are you getting so much of the product on your hand that it is having an adverse reaction?  But I've been using it for years without a problem and on suite cleaning I will use it to wash my hands 4-5 times on the job

You should all be wearing gloves when either mixing or cleaning.
Microsplitters are salt solution so will tend to dry out your skin. Maybe some of the bigger companies who spend millions developing their products have additives to lessen this.

Here is a video i made :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtyZgoNMpW8
It features a poly prop carpet, SPM and a freezing cold rinse.

I find the key to achieving good results is to use a machine such as the TM4 featured in the video, the SPM was applied tap hot and the TM4 did the rest, ended up extracting at about 200 psi, several dry stokes and the job was a good'un.

Good video Russ, just wondering, why rinse with cold water when you have a truckmount and hot water dries quicker?

Thanks for the compliments guys, at the time i was awaiting a part for the prowler and so the Jag stepped in.
The point is this... Microsplitting pre sprays do not rely on hot water to make them work better compared to regular detergents, yes i will agree that working with hot water will in some cases leave a carpet drier, but on some jobs especially EOT's where the hot water tank has been off for days... there is no access to hot water.

When i mean the rinse water was cold... it was cold!!!
Lots of variety available, i choose SPM because its economical to use and works very well.

What is suppose to be the reason behind using 'microsplitter 'anyway   :)

Most non 'microsplitter' carpet cleaning products contain  ' Microsplitter '  ie phosphates anyway  ,  so why not use the more complicated formulas for a better chance of easier cleaning .

The original marketed use of 'microsplitter' in carpet cleaning as far as i can google  , it was suppose to solve a resoiling issue ( never proved ) and probably based on soap products not detergents ... and probably just marketing spiel anyway ,  also its suppose to be safer for the operator to use  , although this is based on STP i believe not soda ash used in SPM .  Also causes  Eutrophication  so cant be an eco chemical proper .

The Cold water thing seems to come along much later  , probably from cleantalk  , im sure they had their reasons to push cold water cleaning  :)  But it seems obvious to me that if most other carpet cleaning products ( falling into the detergent category )  also contain phosphates then they should also work at least as well as ' microsplitter ' at a given temperature .

Wasn't the idea of ms to apply it with a small mist than a good wetting?

I like pure clean as yet not tried spm I will get round to it but I'm happy with my formula 90 pre spraying it works for me.
