Over the last 3 very cold winters when running my system it never froze its only when left out not in use it freezes.I'm looking to fully automate the system, so I can leave it and not have to manually turn on and off, as I am too busy.
i have had similar problems with pipes bursting due to freezing, the only way i cured it was to fit a drain off and drain pipes after finishing producing water.
just an idea, how about some lay flat delivery pipe, blue stuff 1 inch machine mart sell.use that as outer sleeve, put grey foam lagging inside (if it fits)push half inch garden hose through foam and blue hose.Or use pipe as outer sleeve won't really bend though. my ro setup is at my parents and that's a pain.Always thought if i had garden with own setup, i would bury plastic pipe under lawn and thread garden hose through.
I use an external tap, running hose to my garage, and during the winter, I frequently have to defrost the hose in order to run system.Does anyone have any recommendations for lagging? Or an insulated hose?I looked at the grey foam type stuff, but figured that would get wet and freeze anyway, so defeating the object.Need to cover around 10m.
