40/40 ro membrane replacement

Hi does it matter which end of housing you open to put new filter in thanks dale  ;)

the one with the white clip oval ring inside the end is the only one which opens

Yes it does. Very much so.

If you look closely there is a white rubber ring on the actual membrane. When sliding in the membrane that should go in last, and on that side there should be the inlet, the other side waste and pure. Hope that helps.

If there is no rubber on it it might have come off when the previous owner took it out. Contact him. If he can't find it contact June at Gapswater, she might be able to help you out.

It's called a brine seal if that helps you finding a replacement!

I phoned June she couldnt help,so I called east mids water co,I got quoted £98.50 for the rubber seal ,does this sound right for a bit of rubber ? Or does anyone out there have one from when they av changed theres cheers dale  : ;)

That's ludicrous. It's a rubber ring for crying out loud.  :-\

Do you think I could take the seal off the one I'm taking out,and put it on the new one with some silicon on it?

If the seal is the same, same membrane sure. Don't use silicon, you could actually end up damaging the rubber.
