Us again I'm afraid. A small area of copper from the heat exchanger blew on a job last week and we got a plumber to solder the joints. It's starting to drip again. Is it worth having these redone or once the joints are weakened can they be re-soldered? Otherwise would it be best to get a new heat exchanger? (I've got a picture but having trouble getting it off my phone at the moment)

Most TMers take them to a radiator repair shop.

A spare is a good idea although expensive more expensive when you need it in a hurry.

Simon, its a Blazer isn't it. If so I have an exchanger sitting on the shelf from a cancelled order you can have at a good price.

they can be repaired sometimes.  Just depends how bad it is.  Sounds like John has offered a good deal so give him a call.

I would have thought that could be repaired.  Still worth having a think about getting that one off John though.  His number is 01670 590099 (Restormate)

This is the one we have. But as Richie says that looks an easy fix. Even a compression fitting should do it.

I believe That is the blower heat exchanger taking the freshwater into the header tank it is only rated at tap pressure, you could use rubber pipe and jubilee clips this would give a flexible fixing that would resist vibration
