Wish I had seen it a few days ago, as I think I may have bought a bit of a turkey.

Just wanted a small petrol washer for the smaller jobs so I wouldn`t need to lug big Bertha around everywhere but when it arrived I found that it struggles to pull water from a barrel like it stated it would.  It seems ok fed from a tap.
Its true what they say, you get what you pay for.  I recon I was being a bit of a skin-flint and opted for a cheap machine. 
Lesson learnt.

Never mind.

I will watch this machine and when the wife isn`t looking I may have a bid. lol

Its a cracking machine I thought about it myself.
Try Inch hose from your water barrell to your washer and take off any in line filter if you have one fitted.
Failing that get yourself a 12 volt pump off ebay and put this inline.

Same here I bought a Lavor thermic as a stand bye / stand bye, lesson learn't also used once won't even give it van room now, Honda 11hp excellent machine and at £350 who can argue with that

I too before christmas fell into the lavor trap.
Total trash, gave it to my next door neighbour as I didnt have the heart to sell it on.

We all live and learn Gary, question for you, as you know I do a lot of Fleet cleans and as such do a lot of brush work, what I was wondering is if I attached say a garden hose to the end of it would I be able to pump water and chemical from say a 250lt tank of pre-mix via a pump to the brush head A lot of pressure would not be required but the brushes I use have an on/off switch can you get a pump that stops pumping on a pressure build up, I was just wondering as window cleaners must have a similar set up for the WFP/WPF  ???whatever it is hope you get my meaning

 I too have a lavor bought from macro however, It is only used to clean the van and cars on a monthly basis.

The pump I have in my van is a shurflo pump which pumps water from my tank to my pole, I have a switch on the hose which turns the water on and off, when the pressure builds up it switches the pump off automatically.
Type in shurflo on ebay and some should come up.
Ive been doing some recovery trucks today I used a small wfp with the wfp brush on the end and used it with tfr. It did a good job too.
