I think I'm going to fit one in the van today (I have the deadly gas heater). Anyone else carry one?

What do you recommend? The 2kg powder ones look rather large to me. Wickes do a 1kg I might have a look at.

for putting out vehicle fires you want a co2 type.    when i worked as a mechanic yrs ago i had to put out a few accidental fires and believe me the powder ones make a real mess And dont work nowhere near as quickly as a co2  

if you have a word with your local extinguisher firm theres usually a bod who will supply you and recheck your extinguisher yearly . its very cheap doing it that way

I haven't got one,.. I only found out about them after I got a normal extinguisher. They look like a great idea though!

Looks ideal to me particularly as it can put out a fire when the van is unattended. We have a boat supplies shop just down the road too. I am going to pop in later and see what they say.

You have to remember that these types of extinguisher do not have any cooling effect so the fire is likely to flare back up if it's really going and got a lot of heat in it .

Will work to knock down small fires tho .

Marine shop had never heard of it 
Bought a powder extinguisher in Wickes in the end. Might not be ideal but at least I've made an effort.

dry powder is the best all round  willwork on a b c  types of fires

I only have the 1kg one fixed to the tank just inside the sliding door. Might put another near the back door later.
