Second Hand Floor Machines - Sound Advice
« on: November 21, 2012, 12:05:48 pm »
I have decided to bring this to CIU Members attention after a phone call we received yesterday.

Whilst I appreciate Money is tight for a lot of people at the moment it is wise to look at the peripheral costs when purchasing secondhand Floor Rotary Machines.  All too often people see used machines on the internet for sale and jump in without thinking about it.

e.g. Machine on E Bay Working Condition £150 Looks great value until it arrives and you realise you have no driveboard, No Tank and no brushes with it.  These ancillaries can cost anything from £40-£125 each so suddenly what appeared to be a cheap bargain has cost you an additional £120-£300 just to start doing some work with it.

Please don't take this advice the wrong way and I know there are definitely bargains to be had!  However, if you are contemplating buying a used machine take the factors above into the equation and make a point of checking how old the Model you are considering purchasing is!  Don't forget Manufacturers are only obliged to carry spares for machines for 10 Years so after that you are on a wing and a prayer!
