thinking of a gutter vac early next year what would be the lowest wattage on domestics that you get away with,im thinking 1200 but no real experience of these things.

i use a 1400w and have done for 18 months with no problems, on my second vak now but at £90 each its money well spent. Tip for you Bob get one that can blow and if you do get a blocked down pipe blow up the pipe with it.

Bob its a nilfisk i did have a vak king but thay dont last that long.
Ben i have cleaned a lot of gutters with a 1400w and never had a problem or a call back so it can not be that bad

me too but with a 2400w you can work quicker and to be honest, it is better to buy first a very good vac rather than buy a cheap one and after 6 or 12 months, you have to change it!

yes because it is a very good equipment but if you prefer to buy a cheap and crap vac with heavy poles, it is your choice!

my poles are not heavy i use down pipe, and as for cheap and crap the work well and have paid me back 100 times and the end of the its about the money we make off them. 1 job pays for my vak if i did 5 a day every day then yes i would get a bigger vak but i only do 2-4 a week, i keep saying to myself when i come across a job i can not do i will buy a new vak, but i still have not got there

Bradley I made some pipes from down pipe this weekend, what do you use at the top to get the u bend effect cheers mate ?

Nilfisk do an 1800 watt model in machine mart for just over £100 , if you look at the suction specs it's very close to some of the 2400 watt models and has washable filter .

Alloy poles I brought are not great tho,  hard to separate when dirty and too heavy over a conny or extension .
