Oils off a dogs coat/fur?
« on: November 19, 2012, 03:03:56 pm »
Struggled today to get a good result on a part of a carpet that the dog lies on to sleep.

It was at a side of a bed and looked a lot darker than the rest of the carpet.

Of course it could just be darkened from wear, but Im wondering if oils can come from a dogs coat?

I cleaned with SPM and it got a bit better,i then agitated some Citrus Gel into thhe area and extracted but there wasnt a big difference.

Is there anything else I could have done?

Thanks Wayne

Hi

I had almost the same on a through lounge dinner, big dog used smp a bit better but not fantastic not happy with it,so mixed 5lt of water with one and a half scoops of formula 90 resprayed carpet and came up great, dogs coats tend to be very greasy so you need some thing to cut through it

Enzyme prespray lots of dwell and agitation. Then wack some more down before extracting.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

As Mike says , enzyme pre spray such as Enzall sprayed down hot is much better option on this greasy type of soil than a microsplitter.

What enzymes are for IMO this isn't your usual soiling so this is where you have to come waway from the rule book providing you neutralise and rinse well after.

Hot Powerburst with a cap of Citraboost would have done the trick Wayne.

I have used chemspec fast drying upholstery shampoo or their heavy duty soil lifter to good effect.

As they are designed for body contact soil (hand/hair oil)
