« on: November 16, 2012, 01:20:13 pm »
Made a bit of a balls up yesterday with the truckmount was doing a job when i noticed a big drop in vacuum preasure but carried on for 10mins then went back to the van to see if i could find the problem after a few minutes i noticed the waste gete was opened a bit so closed it and finished the job no problems but today when i started the truckmount it cut out a few times but it seems to be working fine now do you think ive done any damage to the blower cheers Darren.

if your waste gate was open it would pull air into the waste tank through any dirty water in the waste tank, this can create a foaming effect which could be pulled into the blower as foam won't activate a full solenoid fitted to your waste tank ( which cuts out the engine when the waste tank get nearly full)

this foam won't do any real harm to a blower as it contains no solids, a bit of wd40 will help lubricate the impellers in case any excess gooeyness has coated them

The big metal thing connected to the engine that's not the pump! Vac lube port on your machine? Failing that squirt it through the vac relief while it's running

Darren are you running the chemtex panther 20 hp ?
Are you servicing it regularly?
Have you cleaned out the filter in the header tank ( its behind the jet)? This needs doing every 100 hrs or machine will overheat.
Spray wd40 into blower at end of every day?
Grease blower every 100 hrs?

Did you get a manual with machine?

I know the machine Darren, its a good un  :D

WD40 is sprayed INTO the blower via the small metal flap that's on the front panel of the machine. A good 10 second squirt at the end of very day.

Just for your info,
Change oil every 50 hrs
Oil and filter every 100 hrs
Grease the two nipples on top of the blower every 100hrs
Clean our the filter behind the jet in the header tank every 100 hrs or more often if you live in a hard water area.
Change fuel filter every 200 or 300 hrs
Change spark plugs and engine air filter every 500 hrs
Change blower oil and water pump oil every 500 hrs

If the machine cuts out at any time it will usually be caused by water in the header tank overheating, this happens when water is flowing slowly through the machine. For example when cleaning upholstery or moving lots of furniture and not moving wand.
To prevent this from happening turn the thermostat down in these situations.
If it happens on a job you can bypass the overheating protection by removing the last of the fuses in the machine ( back fuse). Start machine and turn thermostat right down, this will cause hot water to empty from the header tank and cold water to re fill.
Re fit the fuse, turn the thermostat to a lower temperature and continue cleaning. DON'T run the machine for too long with the fuse removed, you will have no protection against machine overheating.

Hope this helps
Cheers

How does slow flow cause water in the header tank to overheat?

The dvd ive got is from the maker of the truckmount, he made it with the first run of truckmount machines and shows him telling you tips and maintenene things to do live, so you see actually where it is on your machine and what to do.
It starts off showing you how to install a truckmount in your van from the begining.
