Just settled to a night in front of the telly, 9pm, when i got a phone call to go and clean up the front of a pub, which somebody had thrown a 5 litre tin of paint all over the front of it.
What a mess.
One hour later, job done, £100 in the sky rocket, result...
First job via the local police.
Ive been trying to get work out of them for months.

How did you deal with the paint? was it hot wash only or did you use chemicals?

Hot wash only, did the job nicely.
probably would have been a different story if it had been warmer and it had started to set.

Yoiu must have the same problem as us carpet boys n girls, and have to dispose of your water in other means than the nearsest drain after dealing with chemicals, how do you go about this

Nearly all our chemicals are water soluble, so they have been diluted at least a thousand to one before they hit the drains.
So I am told by my suppliers.

But what about the paint 

Sorry im not trying to pick holes, but saw the same thing ish on a program the other day on telle and they blocked all the drains then diverted all contaminated water to one spot then extracted with a road sweeper and vac pump.

im interested in what happens when the paint sets? whats the best solution, i used nitromers(is that how its spelt?) many years ago and im not sure if this is still around and also what happens now to the left over water with all the new regs?

Nitromors is a definate no no.
It gives off toxic fumes and can still burn when being washed off.
You cannot use it in communial areas and cant flush it down the drain..
As for paint I have meshed panels that cover the drains in vacinity, that stops paint going down the drain.
This is then emptied into refuse sacks and disposed of.
The paint stripper I use is as strong as nitromors if not stronger, but once it comes into contact with water its completely useless.

Good answer Gary, When I do graffiti removal I have to block the drains off, if there are any, Then lift all the water / stripper etc etc and do as you have stated rag and bag it for burning, however when I saw the council removing graffiti the other week they acid the item in question or wall as it was at the time in question and power wash off nothing ellse pack up the gear and drive off  , bit of do as i say not as I do sindrome.

Its the same down here, they make the rules but don't follow them.
