« on: November 08, 2012, 05:11:50 pm »
So you can get an app on your phone, does it do android? Also can it run multiple phones, ie if you had employees with seperate phones?

Aworka mobile is a web app, accessed via your phone's browser. Although not a native app, it does continue to work without an internet connection. It works on Android, iPhone, Windows Phone and some BlackBerry phones. Aworka supports multiple users each with their own round(s), who can login simultaneously via their phones, tablets and/or computers.

Im a little un sure of how that works on browser with no connection? Id like to see it.

So are you saying if for example i had a few different employees, they could login on their phone to specific worksheets i have set from home?

Offline capability is built in to most modern browsers, specifically to cope with flaky connections on mobile devices. Not too many sites make use of the technology though (yet).

You need an internet connection initially when you log in to the site and your data is downloaded to your phone, but subsequent updates you make on your phone are stored locally until you choose to sync (which requires an internet connection again).

In answer to your second question, yes, you can create multiple users within Aworka and assign different rounds of jobs to each one. Each user has their own login, but can only view and edit rounds assigned to them. As the admin user, you would be able to see and plan all the work for each of your users and they would pick up their day's work when they next sync their phones (or login into their accounts on their computer).

Have had a quick play with it, does look like it got potential, i like it. Work in progress yeh, the new features look good and the fact you can do it on phone is massive bonus to me, so youd have to to leave browser open yes. Just concerns me if you close browser you wont be able to get back on, reception is pretty poor around here and very rarely get 3g, we get that edge where we can browse...very very slowly. Suppose that would be enough to open it.

How much work is it to transfer from WCP?

And email customer, is that invoice direct to customer after job is done? I would like that, i have a few commercial jobs that i have to invoice when i get in. Bit of a faff at end of day making invoice and then emailing them all over. Be nice if program did all this.

Im almost sold mate.

On full version of www.aworka.com  you just click on job that you have cleaned and you are able to email invoice which is all done for you just check details and send .

I assume it will work the same on the mobile app when up and running .

As for keeping browser open their is no need , What i have done on my phone is signed into aworka and bookmarked page  for quick access,  When i have looked at what i need to on my phone i just shut browser and switch of 3G . just use phone for making or receiving calls or whatever.

Or i can drop in on this forum , The only thing you need to do is when you are on mobile app and you have a connection if have updated your work such as work done and who has paid you need to click the sync tab so as all your worked is saved .

It is a top program mate so easy to use with great functions . Mike

How would you access your round on the computer if your internet was down at home?

You do need an internet connection to access your round. Thankfully, internet connections are pretty robust these days and I think increasingly, people expect to have internet as much as they do electricity or water.

Having said that, there are a few options if your home/office internet goes down... since you can log into your account from any internet connection computer, you could go to a friend or neighbour and borrow theirs, or an internet cafe or library. Another option would be to use a smartphone or tablet with its 3G internet connection or a WiFi hotspot somewhere.

i have just signed up to give it a go see what it is like.. when using it on the phone it says features like adding jobs are coming.. is that to add jobs to the complete system? and if so will it be able to be switched off so staff can't add jobs to your rounds?

Also if you was to add a new job or move forward a job on the main system in the office would it appear on the phone? for example today staff where out cleaning someone rings up says can you fit me in today ... yes i say and move the job forward would it appear if they sync there phone?
Dave.

Yes, the New Job button will be for adding new customers, picked up whilst out working or canvassing. I am planning to give employers more control over what their employees can do, e.g. adding new customers, adding or moving jobs, editing job details, etc (these settings will apply to the main site too).

Yes, if you make any changes on the main system, the mobile(s) would pick up the changes on their next sync.

dave0123: When you edit a job, you can change the Appointments setting to 'One Off' for a once only job.

p1w1: You should be able to delete a round if it has no jobs in it (the Num Jobs column of the Rounds table should be blank).

LWC: It is possible to set up a customer to be automatically invoiced by email after a job is done, or at a set frequency, e.g. once a month.

Thanks Chris, i found it.

Would be ideal if you have some more options for staff and franchisee's not be able to add jobs or delete etc. This way it can be controlled by the office or main admin..would be smashing lol.
Dave.

Am I right in thinking Aworka is £10 per month? is that per user or £10 and then as many users as you need?

Yes Aworka is £10 per month, per user.

Note that if you have multiple office/admin staff, they can all share one user account and soon I am going to stop charging for admin only users (users with no rounds assigned to them).
