Hi Guys.

Looking for the most effective and most affordable way to heat my van up overnight to stop the waterfed pole tank and accesories freezing at 0 -0 temps over winter.

Ie

Greenhouse battery powered by leisure battery (do i have to charge this every night)

Thermostatic fan heater.

Best way to supply safe power to this, prefer leaving it in van without plugging into mains. I have a small lock up with electric supply, but can barely just get van in and its a little distance away from home.

Help with this greatly appreciated!!

And why do i drop flow rate over time with water. Using sureflo 100psi pumps and Brodex electronic pump controller. starts off great and starts to die after just a month or 2.

Looking forward to getting help with this, especially the heater.

Thanks

Paul

I just use cold ...... hot will still freeze on the ground

and if you put salt down and an accident occurs u guilty as charged as why put the salt down if you didnt know the risk ??

in winter u just have to accept your going to loose the odd day.

I do a Dazmond and draw from my winter fund ... which in my case is not like Dazmond and his piles of cash ... mines called an overdraft  "
its not just about hot water freezes too,

put the element on a timer... say 4 hours in the early morning,... when you open the van doors, everything is warm in the van, ....

when you work in -1 conditions the water does not freeze on the glass as its warm.... its steam to be honest....

and the hose are supple all day...... but the main thing for me is the tank in the van acts as a radiator.... preventing anything freezing.

look,.... if you are going to spend money on oil filled radiators, to prevent frost overnight... put a blooming element in the tank, and get all the benefits.

how many blooming more times do i have to tell you ?

gazza you been drinking ;D

paul. it is stu from falkirk how are things going out west, glad to see still going and doing well, did you sell the falkirk round?

an oil filed radiator helps a bit if you have power, and the fact you have a lock up will help

think what gazza was saying is a lot of guys have fitted a heating element into the tanks like you get  in a boiler, the water then heats up and the tank is like a big radiator

oil filled radiator and yes put salt down once you ve swept the water away with a sweeping brush on frosty days when working.the customers really apprieciate it.i use a cold system with no problems.

take a spare flask of hot water to defrost your jets if they freeze up and keep the water flowing as much as possible.if its still freezing in the hose.have the day off and go and spend some of your emergency fund that you ve built up over the year!! 8) 8) ;D ;D ;D
