hi guys, a bit of advice for a newbie if you would.. i,ve just been given a rug to clean but i suspect its a belgian wilton, the pattern is through to the back and the label says made in belgium, it says 100% polyprop heatset on the label too but nothing about the backing, any advice on cleaning method would be great...ps, its cream and black and pretty grubby..cheers

yep  a B/W rug  dont stress just clean the thing it will flatten out once dry

... I had one that didn't!  Had to bring it in the lounge, re-wet it and leave it under a bit of plywood with my armchair sat on top of it for 2 days!

or nail it to a board, then clean it.

job done, pre vac, light mist hd, agitated with E40 , finished with bonnet. came up really well.. i know ideally it ought to have been extracted but i explained the situation to the custy and she was fine and really pleased with the result..

Well I reckon you did the right thing ryan, I try to just bonnet clean them but like you said some times they really do need HWE.  Only if the money's right will I get on hands & knees with a CFR tool!
