Ebay Numpty
« on: November 04, 2012, 06:22:21 pm »
That's me finished with ebay no more selling equipment sold my host freestyle to a numpty from North Shields came viewed the machine in operation went through everything with him assemble and disassemble for him happy and he paid only to text me later that the machine didn't work after he had stripped it down, told him to bring it back and let me take a look but it was fully operational when he took it and by his own admission he had stripped it. Came yesterday morning yes machine wasn't working but as I tried to explain it was working when he took it and he had stripped it so no refund after a few texts getting nowhere and a voicemail he left I said I was at the match and would not be taking anymore calls/texts. Only for him to turn up about 7.30 last night with some lad with him returning machine in bits in black bags. Normally I'd have been on the lash all day at the match and probably would have taken both their heads off with the drink.

Put the machine back together this morning to find it wet where he had washed vacuum pod and black electric lead missing, the bottom part the belt had slipped and a couple of teeth missing so needs new belt. For the sake of peace in the house from the wife she said I should give him a full refund but me being stubborn was no it was working when he took it it's not now,but after being frightened by him and his mate last night she said refund him which I have now done.So I'm left with a machine that doesn't work and it's going to cost me to repair

How the machine was returned

How the machine left me

That's me done with selling on ebay I would have stood my ground but pressure from the wife and bairn he has got his refund less £20 for cable >:( >:( >:(

I to would be peeved. I know you have refunded now but surely ebay offers protection from a complete idiot. If the product was returned in it's original condition the fair enough but this t**ser stripped it. I'd repair and send him the bill!

I've just had a selling restriction placed on my account from eBay, even though I've got 99% positive feedback - 2 people gave me less than 5 stars for price of P&P, and that's the end of that - can't sell anything now!

When it comes to any selling on eBay, you've got no support whatsoever - the buyers can have your pants down and screw you dry with no comeback at all.

Looks like he's possibly stripped it for parts he needed and given it back? Absolute scum bag.

The only things i sell on Ebay now are specialist niche products (ie carpet cleaning equipment), for everything else, i sell on the many local selling groups on facebook. They are free ( fleabay is a complete ripoff in my opinion) and you don't have to bother with the hassle of post/packing, the buyer comes to you.I think Ebay is really going to struggle in the near future, everyone i know sells on the facebook sales groups.

What a joke, there is no way I would have given him a refund, i would have told him to sling it. I can't actually believe some people, I'd be fuming, why dd he feel the need to strip it down in the first place? Did you ask him?

He said it was to get rid of the smell? I think he is a newbie.

I have a bit of a temper on me so it was best all round I refunded him or I would have battered him especially after hearing his voicemail wanting to me to meet him off the ferry as he didn't like the way I told his sister it had nothing to do with her and the text calling me a poop. Our lass was petrified last night when he turned up with some stranger I just wanted to go outside and smack them back to North Shields.Tonight he was supposed to be coming at 4 so she went out as she hates confrontation but he didn't turn up till after 6 with his mate again but I had my mate with me  ;D I'm absolutely fizzing

Name and shame him Steve  >:(

Thats terrible, what was his reason for stripping it? what do you think is the reason it does not work now? (any parts missing)

Remember anyone on your property, you have a right to treat them as an intruder.

If you completed the transaction on ebay, don't forget to reverse it or you'll still get charged the £80 sellers fee

Sorry but the moment he brought it back in bits would be the moment i would lose the head!

Would any supplier refund you for bringing back a piece of equipment in bits?  Why is different for an ebay seller?

Very good advice, fancy naming and shaming him then ? He'll be local to me.

Because he had brought someone with him who was mouthing off on Saturday as my wife had asked him in and not to shout on the doorstep he continued to do so,he also brought him last night both were very sheepish different from the night before when she answered the door holding the dog ;D

He's just starting up I told him he was an incompetent individual who shouldn't be allowed in peoples homes because he could cause so much damage to peoples carpets because he hasn't got a clue what he's doing and he cannot bring his mate round to sort his problems out all the time

I think you handled it very well indeed,

the easy thing to do would be to lump him one and then get possibly get into all kinds other issues,as a local business man the last thing you want it to be charged with assault.

You rose above it with out losing face and have moved on, well done.  ;)

Well its over with and sure you get it sold again, mike is totaly right not worth the bother, mind you regarding the wife if she doesn't like confrontation and she answers the door with that beast, I'd be careful if I were you, not to get on her wrong side!

P.s don't see many Dobermans about these day, my wife commented on it saying it was probably the same bloke we had who baulked at a machine we sold as spares or repair ( if he had a volvo it was ) and she  saw the pic  and said rember Fry and LAurie and Hugh Laurie in his first doctor role before house, with a doberman.

The saga goes on just had another call asking for his money back which I told him it's down to the processing company 3-5 working day, I lost it at the way he spoke to me now he's threatening to come and sort me out ;D ;D I said I'll take his head off his shoulders if he knocks on my door again or if he wants I'll come and see him at his house with my mates funny the calls have stopped now ;)
