O.k so i am due an upgrade in january from orange and currently run wcp on my p.c and wcp lite on my htc touch 2 for all my work, which is absolutley fine but i get the sneaking idea that when i get the latest phone (whatever it may be?) that i am going to have a load of trouble running window cleaner pro lite on it..........................So here is my question, what phone will/can i get to run wcp lite on?????? :-\ :-\ :-\

Why not consider changing to Aworka, I believe it works on Android (see M&M's post's) and iPhone (which I use).

Chris can import/transfer all your data free of charge.

I appreciate it's a radical move but you might just find it's worth it.

You will have to consider that you cant backup Aworka like you can WCP they do the backups at their end, I have tried it and its a risk to be considered IMO just incase things go wrong

Whats the HTC Touch 2 like with WCP lite cos I still use a TREO 750v and the screen is tiny

Yes your data is stored online as per any online service such as banks, iCloud, gMail etc, however you can also keep a local copy which will open in any csv file based app such as excel, George etc.. so risk averted.

Thats not quite true if you export a csv file from aworka you just get a customer csv file and also a debts csv file

this cannot just be put into George just like that

whereas if you have a backup file from WCP or George if things go wrong you can just reload the backup and things will be exactly as they were before

if you run your business without a paper file/back up you are asking for trouble anyways tbh

gotta agree aworka, best software by a mile, & i have tried george etc.
the simplicity is crazy. for instance.
go to debts select cash payers / then round order and print = only cash collection sheet, no crossing off who to miss etc.

this is invaluable to me tbh.
i also now update my details etc on my ipad on the sette not sat at my mac.

Hi Chris

I assumed your statement (You will have to consider that you cant backup Aworka like you can WCP they do the backups at their end, I have tried it and its a risk to be considered IMO just incase things go wrong) meant to imply that Aworka could fail and you and all your data would be lost which I'm sure you will agree is not the case, apologies if I misunderstood.

Aworka provides a local back up in the form of a commonly used csv file, which can be imported to another app such as George or used in an app such as excel or numbers, either way it enables trading to continue.

It's the same in the case of WCP, George or any other app, if they fail you'll need local useable data.

John

Its not the same, a backup from George or WCP contains far more personal date than a csv file, they contain such data like program license info which it particular only to the programs that created them

if you upload  any csv file to george or wcp it simply wont work, but an original backup file will return everything back to how it was

If you make a mistake with Aworka or any other online database for that matter and acidently delete a customers info its gone for good because you will have deleted it from there end not locally

I think we are talking crossed purposes, I understood (maybe incorrectly) that you implied if Aworka was to fail you would be stranded without data and ability to continue, which I do not believe is true.

I admit the export data would benefit from additional info such as trading history but if my memory serves me well I don't think even George offered this when I transferred to Aworka.

If WCP or George failed in the same way the same would apply, you would need to use your data in another program.

My conclusion is I therefore the need to store data locally to enable me to continue trading should the supplier fail I believe Aworka does this suitably at present and will no doubt improve with time.

Thanks for the info Chris and John got so used to using www.aworka.com never considered about back up plan to much,  I guess i should ideally print off all the details i can on a weekly basis to ensure i have update info as a back up in relation to  custys and accounting .

Because dont forget if you stored a backup file on your PC and something happens to your PC ie stolen or damaged beyond repair you aint got any back up . Mike

It is a good idea to back up using an external disc drive, or cd.

The Aworka  mobile app is fantastic , When out at work i just update which jobs i have done and who has paid or not along with looking at jobs for the current day previous and next day . And debt list which means i dont have to go PC when i get home .

Or when i go collecting i just work through my debt list on my phone . Firkin Fantastic chris has done and is doing a Fantastic job in creating and improving www.aworka.com in order to tailor the program/app to suit windys needs with great usability functionality and simplicity . Mike

So theres a proper app on this aworka? I always wonder about using something on the cloud with having no reception which i suffer alot with around here! Ie if you were using it thru a browser like planmyjobs thing it wouldnt load with no reception

Also when you enter data is that automatically synced when having reception or wifi connection?

Hi LWC & Mrs Brown

The mobile app is web based browser app that does work offline i.e. no data connection, it's all part of the £10 per month service, you can sync anytime you have a connection GPRS/EDGE/3G or Wifi it takes a few seconds and is normally done once or twice a day.

If you think it might be for you try the free trial and ask as many questions as you like.

Like George/Paul I think Aworka/Chris provides a very good application but most importantly supports it in a very helpful and genuine manner.
