Risk & method fattening up help please
« on: November 01, 2012, 08:54:56 pm »
Got a load of blocks to price up for a company who need
the risk assessment & method statement
To be water tight!

I do risk assess all com jobs but I would like some
Input to fatten it up and make it thorough
I can't put picks up but there is nothing unusual about these
Sites and done with pole no ladders
Of the top of my head
Usual suspects are:

Predestrains
Weather
Trip hazards
Traffic
Site rules
Over head lines
Equipment use etc

The little details will make a big difference risk
assessment& method statement
Is the key to getting these jobs!
So could you please add to the list

Cheers in advance
Colin

Step,1

Complete your hazard and risk assessment
List hazards
What controls you are going to set up,
Risk rate beforehand after control
After control is your residual risk rating

You can Google method statements templates
Do this in Google images

A good Method statement will simply lay out how you are going to clean the job and in particular will outline the controls you will put into place and identified in your risk assessment

List

Who's on the job
Who's responsible for managing works
Tel and contact details

Who's client management
Contact details

Outline the following

Parking place
Security arrangements
Point of contact name in an emergency, if different rom above
I'd property layout, name each section/ elevation
Example South, front elevation etc
Then for each section spell out equipment to,use and safety controls
Repeat for all areas

The main thing is to spell out how you will clean and control

Keep it simple

Andy
