Best portable machine?
« on: October 30, 2012, 09:25:58 pm »
I was wondering if anyone could recommend the best portable machine to buy?

ive been doing a bit on research and ive narrowed it down to either the jag 6.6 or the airflex turbo.

Is anyone selling one of these or a similar machine second hand?

Thanks

These are probably the two most powerful portables on the market and being that they are fairly new I doubt you will find second hand ones. Good luck though.

Training courses will either be impartial and unable to recommend any particular company, or biased and recommend their own machine.

The best is the one which suits your needs and standards. There are lots of good portables out there but you choose one for your needs and budget.

Gabriel hit the nail on the head .......... every carpet cleaner here is using the best machine on the market !!

It is personal choice, based on type of work, transport, areas, building and lastly finances  ;)

Unfortunately the training courses are not impartial when it comes to choosing a machine when looking for a machine you want one that is powerful so you can use long hose runs, reliable, easy to work on if you have to replace any parts, and good back up from a supplier you can trust.
I have the Airflex Turbo and its a great bit of kit, with excellent backup from Mat at Cleansmart.

im using the airflex pro matts entry level machine, id like one more powerfull either the storm or a jag but budget needs have to be met so i bought one with a view to upgrading. matt is very customer focused and will help you get started, the course is very good by the way!!!!! my next machine is a storm or jag for sure.............

Thats a good point Tim

with the airflex you can upgrade it, I'm sure simon from arena cleaning was having his done last year while we were doing the spotting course.

I did however see a video with 'proof' that ashbys is a better machine   ::)   :o :o :o :o :o :o :o   ::)

Yes I did. The great thing is you do not have to have all the upgrades if you don't need them, like remote, pump or auto empty so you can always save quite a bit if you need too. Just putting the vacs in would make quite a difference.

Thanks for the replies, just got back from nottingham and the course with Derek was excellent, and to be fair he didnt try and pressure anyone into buying the machines. I Think i will keep my eyes peeled for any airflex storms going second hand.

when we started out we had a single vac machine. We knew nothing about carpet cleaning. 25 years later we are still going strong. ( don't know how nuch we know about it now either).

Airflex is a good machine and I hear there are many configurations & upgrades possible. I thought about one before I heard of Jaguar in the pipeline, happy I waited for it and still getting used to the extra power ........ even more when I went over to new 2" hoses ...... dare not try the internal upgrades.

Asking for best machine is like asking best football team in a pub .....everyone will have opinions, even if theirs has just lost ...... you test drive the favourites and pick from that  ;)
