Cant believe the country is in a mess and there funding training to clean a window.
theres lots of videos on youtube if people are unsure how to clean a window.

Doc Windows aka Kevin: I do know who you are. I don't know what your problem is?. If you are looking for an ego boost because you have extremely small genitals, I can tell you I am no plastic surgeon. But what I do have are a very particular set of canvassing skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career undercutting window cleaners like you. Skills that make me a nightmare for window cleaners like you. If you stop bitching about my business now, that'll be the end of it. I will not follow you, I will not pursue your customers and offer to clean them all for £5. But if you don't, I will follow you, I will take all your customers and you will be flipping burgers at Macdonalds.

Thank you and good morning!
must take an extremely skilful canvasser to offer £5 cleans to everyone  ;D ;D ;D

Let me know what areas you clean in and I will test out my canvassing skills in them

I would think that following your performance this morning you this morning, your opportunities to "test" your canvassing skills will be diminishing.

Turf wars!  Fight, fight, fight, fight.  ::)

Back on topic. Andrew are your courses full funded and are you in or around Swindon any time soon?

As far as I can tell, the only thing we have mildly near you (1 hour 20 minutes away) is Uxbridge.

We are trying to get a course set up down your end though, so I'll keep you updated! :)

I did the (free) NVQ when it was happening down my way.  It was definitely more about H & S.  I learned a little from it and it was nice to have it confirmed that my H & S was up to scratch.  The bit I did learn from it is unlikely to help much as it's unlikely I will be on those sort of jobs.  However, someone very new to window cleaning would probably benefit more in adapting to safer working.
Not knocking it.  If it got someone thinking about their working methods and caused them to make a couple of changes to be safer then I reckon it's worthwhile.

That's good.  Would you have paid £1,300 for it?

I didn't think so.

So then why did I (ie the taxpayer) have to pay that money for it then?

Is it possible that the authorities are gearing up towards licensing window cleaning right across the uk and you would need to have an nvq to qualify?

If that's even remotely possible then I'm getting myself on the next available course.

I don't reckon it's too far in the future as the government tries squeezing every penny out of little businesses already.

Hi Paul, thanks for the post, hope you are well, I must say that the course has changed quite a lot since you completed the certification, I would like to think we have made quite a few improvements for the better and what's interesting is the main part of your post and that for someone with your experience its more about refreshing and confirming knowledge, certificating and providing evidence of competency.

It's a shame some of the anti Impact and anti training brigade don't give it a try, at present it's like having a view or critic on a film without even seeing it,

All the best Paul, regards Andy

Society isn't just about the flow of money its about using public spending wisely where its most needed. Is free training for window cleaning wise? I think not. I think most posts aren't anti Impact I'm certainly not. They are having a go which is never a bad thing. What gets me is that if their product is as good as they and those of you have done the training is why don't they just offer it at a decent price I'm sure we'd all do it and they'd free themselves of their government ties. I'm sure getting rid of all the beaurocracy that comes with funding would be a relief and they'd grow their business even more.  ;D

I'm surprised it can't be offered as an on-line course to be honest. My wife works for a pharmacy and does her homework and exams on-line. Can't imagine window cleaning was any harder.

I'm sure a tiny percentage of what we do could be done online, but it's the practical work which we pride ourselves on.

Giving window cleaners the opportunity to work with brand new water fed poles and the latest PPE technology.

Can't really give that experience through a screen! :)

Franky,  I am trying to get a course down your neck of the woods!

We are aware that we need something "darn sarth", so just bear with me! :)

Also, in terms of Newport, Cardiff and Swansea, we can't cover Wales! :(

It's more of the fact of just simply trying to fit it in.

From NOW until Christmas we have just under 30 dates to do.

These include day 1s, 2s 3s and 4s.

We're just being rushed off our feets.

I'll see what I can do.
