Commerical payment well over due
« on: October 27, 2012, 06:22:33 pm »

I clean a furniture store stand alone unit on a monthly basis, i have cleaned it twice before and was paid a day or two after, I give normally give 7 days to pay but it has gone 30 since I last cleaned them, I have called them and they have said twice I would be paid asap to no avail.

What would your next step be as commercial cleaning terms are fairly new to me, im thinking maybe sending them a final demand invoice were if not paid in 3 days interest would be applied?

Of course I don't want to lose the clean so something firm but not to threatening if ya no what i mean.

Be straight with them .Tell them that you have a 2 cleans of none payment and it stops there until paid.No point working for nothing.

I normally would just be straight up and say it but in this case this job could lead to quite a bit of commercial work for me, when I contact them I have to go through the office so was looking some help on a worded letter approach, or is it to be expected with commercial work always chasing up payments?

I have a job thats taken 2 months to get the money ,over one and half grand!
Its down to your gut feeling really, have you tried setting up bacs or standing order?

How much are you owed and how long does it take to do the job is the Questions i would be thinking on whether i clean it again with out the payment.

Give them a call on Monday morning and tell them if you have not got the cheque by Friday you will call in Friday and collect. It always works for me, its easy to fob you off over the phone, but they don't like the thought of you coming there face to face with them in case you kick off. ;D

I find you get the cheque before Friday ;)

Couple of our contracts are 60 days, but they are worth waiting for. Normally they are 30 days, and only a 99% adhere to that, just wish domestics would!

The quicker we go commercial only, the better.

I wouldn't entertain commercials until you have a Very full domestic round once you do you can just lay the law down, if they have paid you before 2x then they will most likely do so again so I would clean again if they still don't pay suspend cleaning then go legal, as for them promising you the world I wouldn't get exited its just talk until it happens and they also lie to try to keep you interested don't worry about loosing the job if its a higher order value clean you can quickly replace with a few houses I learnt. Long time ago that commercial really Ain't my cup of tea sick of waiting Around 4 months to get paid on some

I agree, and this is why I have never gone into the commercial sector, apart from a small shop front and restaurant where I am paid immediately.
