Newbie-carpet cleaning as an add on

advice please, I have my own window cleaning business and am gonna be employing in March, I would like to start carpet cleaning as an add on so my questions are...

what is a good entry level machine to start with.?
wet, dry or steam.?
do the courses cover stain removal.?
how much to budget for this as an add on.?
anything else that I should be asking.?

any advice gratefully received, many thanks

Budget - how long is a piece of string, i've spent a small fortune this year and i've been established for getting on ten years
Equipment - you need a twin vac, 135 psi pump minimum. You'll need a lot of other things tho, decent vacuum, sprayer, brushes, hose, wand, upholstery tool, rotary, maybe a crb or something to agitate carpets.

You probably will need to advertise as well, obviously you have your existing clients but you'll be surprised how many don't take you up on carpet cleaning. I can name on one hand how many of my domestic cleaning clients have had their carpets cleaned and I make it known to them, WE CLEAN CARPETS!

I'd say realistically £2000 with some bargains, but could easily be over £15,000, just depends what you want from it.

im in a similar situation to you, starting up as an add on to my valeting business, ive spent £2500 on setting up,machine, chems training(free with machine from cleansmart), didnt need a van as i have one as i guess you do as well, with the other bits i need still ill be looking at £3500 and thats very much entry level.............. you could spend much much more......

air flex pro from matt at cleansmart nottingham..........  good started machine and it can be upgraded as well.......

Try and look out for a good second hand machine I just picked up a Jag 6.6 just starting my self I have just spent Around 4k got  all to start of with Machine,hoses .wand, rotary Drymaster 2, training,  Blower,Brushes, Chemicals and all the bits & Pieces I am a car detailer Valet just another string realy
