Hi Guys

I wanted to ask for those of you who provide spotters how effective are they and for those of you that sell them do you sell much of them?

Thanks

Do you get much work from checkatrade?

Effectiveness is based on what you put in them, I sell a few a month 4 or 5 at £9.95.

Restormate ones (all ive used in my short time tbh).. very effective

Sell them and give them away depending on job ticket etc..

Last xmas for e.g  i bought 50 and sold ALL 50,, each day i would challenge myself and at the end  of the week keep a running total just on spotter bottle sales! sad i know but it was kind of fun too... i dont charge as much as Mike by the way,,but was making well in excess off 100% of the cost...

I liken them to business cards in a bottle..

Often get asked "have you got anymore best stuff i ever used"...

Regards
Paul

Cleansmart do them with the waterproof labels. If you buy from them ask them for their marketing info on the myriad of ways to use them.

One of the easiest way to put one pound in, get five pound out.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Morning Len

Checkatrade was a very good investment.

It cost £500, paid over 4 installments

1st year i turned over £4000
2nd year I turned over £9000
3rd year i turned over £2000

I didn't market it to the full but i was very happy, got 1 bad comment in 3 years and that was something that was practically impossible (why hadn't I cleaned the window grooves when you open a dbl glazed window and why was there a black mark around the frame when she opened it!) but I got right of reply (no one cleans the grooves and that mark will always be there from the rubber around the window)

Solutions sell a whopping 500ml spotter bottle for the same price some others are selling their 250ml spotters!
They work well on most household spills and the printed label look professional...
I have no problem selling mine for £9.99

We have 5oz sample cans we use as giveaways on the websites and also at networking events use them almost like business cards.  We get both domestic and commercial jobs directly because people have had one as a freebie.

We sell a larger one, 20oz, at £12.99 inc VAT and sell a good number.  We sell them by offering a 12 month limited stain protection warranty.  If they have the carpet cleaned and protected AND buy a Spot Remover we'll go out and attempt to remove any mark they can't get out with the Spot Remover.  We get very few calls, and those we do we fit in while passing and usually end up quoting for something else while there and booking that in.  It also means they come back for more Spot Remover when it runs out.  Works for us, I'll not be retiring on the sales but every little helps  ;)

I do give away plenty on good value jobs .......... if I get a box of 60 spotters, I can sell half of them at £9.99 each and treble my money ......... still gives me 30 to give away without cost !!  ;)

We give a litre bottle to every customer free, they love them and certainly helps with repeats M&D recommends.

Similar to other comments, Its like a business card but better . Give them away , sell them you decide.I also have local carpet/furniture retailers buying box's off me to sell on , they have people coming back for more, every bottle hasmy details on.
I recon eve if you gave £500 worth away over a period of time the return would be better than most advertising of same money.
