on my way to work this morning and my tom tom started to act wierd

the touch screen will not work , everthing else works it is still navigating to my last time i used it because i cant make any changes . when i touch the screen it just goes darker and when i take my finger of it goes back to normal brightness .   anyone got any ideas  ???

its charging ok , everthing else works just touch screen wont let me select anything

a lot easier to find houses , we do a lot od student houses and landlord lets all scattered around

Good tip. Reboot the bloody thing regularly too.

i've got a cheap chinese gps off ebay (very good it is too) and it has a little hole in it that if you stick a pin in it it resets it back to how it was when you first bought it. if nothing else works it might be worth seeing if yours has a reset hole.

thanks   might do that , going to have to charge it up first , heard might be dirt in it or like mentioned above  up date , and reboot it

i work all over the uk and sometimes rest of europe so i need a tomtom for work, mines never gone wrong so sorry cant help.
not everyone has the good fortune to work a few miles from home

If its new one hold start button for about 10 seconds or more to reboot, if its old one use pin or safety clip tp on resit on bottom of base.

If that fails try to get menu and find reset on menu and will have to reprogramm like when you first had tom tom, hope that helps.. If that fails google tom tom and look for symptoms.

I don't use a tom tom as I use my mobile phone which has navigation or gps if I need to find a place. ;D ;D

If you left it in the van overnight then it may be due to the cold conditions, ok not so cold st the mo but it could be that. I had the same thing on mine and later in the day it would be fine.

i did leave in van but been in house now and still doing it will try what members have said over weekend when i get some time  ???
