Strip Connector for this?
« on: October 23, 2012, 09:12:57 am »

I believe this is a re-badged Digital Varistream
Anyone know where I can get a terminal connector that plugs into the back on the circuit board?
I want to try adding a second pump.

Hard drive power socket "old type" may fit it with a little jigery pokery.

Thanks a lot.
Just need a pump now!
I've got two tanks and I'm DI only so I'm thinking of getting a pump for each tank.
Then I can use tap water for 1st cleans and really bad jobs with no outside tap.
I can bypass the resin vessels now but it's a bit of a faff and tend to get water everywhere!!!!

Don't clean windows with tap water, if your in a hard water area and the minerals have time to dry on the windows you'll waste twice as much pure scrubbing it off again.

My gut feeling is telling me that you have only got the innards for a single controller although you have the contol face for two. The connector you have asked about carries four wires, positive in from battery, negative in from battery, positive out to pump and negative out to pump. Both positive wires are red and both negative wires are black.

The digital Varistream I have is a single controller and the pads are linked to the electronic control pad on the faceplate as yours are.

Why not contact Williamson Pumps and ask them as they will know.

Where are you going to put that block connector? It looks like the second position is just a blanking plate.

No It's defiinitely a second controller I've had the plate off!  The guy I bought the kit off used it when he had pump problems.
But good tip about first cleans with tap water if it has time to dry - thanks for the warning.
Did a conservatory the other day with no outside tap available and used over 100 litres.
Glad I could bypass the resin vessels because as I see it there is no need for it on polycarbonate roof panels and upvc frames etc...
I know some say pure water "Eats the dirt" but I haven't found much difference really.
Can't beat the flow and pressure of an outside tap for shifting dirt :)

I know this is an old post but I 'stumbled' across this today that will help

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNotffWH1wE

(Actually I was looking for growing information on a Moringa tree when a 14 minute video add started which was all about Brodex's Porta Power window cleaning trolley which I found quite interesting.

There is also a video on how to identify whether it's a pump or controller failure,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-q7Nz5rziU

and another on identifying aux battery charging issues.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uK1gdaBGVNc

Well worth a watch IMHO).

 :) :)
Had a look earlier - exactly like mine - like the way he kept referring to it as a switch!
It's a digital controller and has 3 switches on it.
The main on / off switch on mine has "gone" it got really dodgy to switch on or off - it is now on permanently!
But I can switch it on or off from the battery link so keepng it as a backup spare.
The other one is working fine thankfully.

Maybe you have the 3 securing nuts that hold the circuit board in place a little too tight. I would try and release them a fraction and then see if you still have the same problem.

No
Tried it - and packing out the mounting posts with washers - 2 on some 3 on others.
No joy.
Switch out of the face plate, connected direct - defo dodgy.
Looks like bog standard -  probably still available, micro-switch but tricky soldering job.
While it's permanently ON  it's still O.K. as a spare.
If it was permanently OFF then it's soldering iron out.

Ok,

it was just a thought, glad you have tried that already.

I wonder how much a replacement board is as I would never be able the remove that component and replace it.
