Any other longstanding cc's suffered from this? centre two fingers on my right hand have started going completely numb after several minutes triggering the carpet wand. Now after a few months, I'm getting it travelling up my arm to my elbow joint??
One person has said RSI, although I know of a friend who's dad was on the tools all his life (triggering) - he had to have an operation on the tendons in his hand in the end . I'm only 31!

Alan,

I second the trapped nerve theory.  Its called carpel tunnel syndrome whereby your medial nerve is being compressed and causing the tingling in your fingers and pain shooting up your arm.

Its easy fixed, but the waiting list is bout 1.5yrs (in glasgow at least) for the op.  Its a day surgery job and i know all of these things as my GF is a theatre nurse.

I have experienced something like it when i played World of Warcraft for 18hrs solid and couldnt left click for a day or 2 without getting a tingling in my finger.

Have a word with a Chiropracter (not an Osteopath). They are great at releasing trapped nerves. I had the same problem as you a few years ago but it cured itself.

had same thing and occasionally comes back  carpal tunnel is correct try a tight strapping around wrist area when working and ice compress at night off and on 10/mins simon

Probably worth investing in a different wand or different valve for your wand. Some valves offer less resistance. Here is an example of the type I mean. This wand actually mentions "soft as butter" valve for sufferers of carpal tunnel syndrome.

Also as previous;y mentioned swapping hands regularly will help alot. This would be made easier to do if you had a glide on your wand. Because a glided wand is easier to push across the carpet you will find it much easier to control with your weaker arm/hand.

Carpal tunnel is easily remedied and does not require surgery. Look for a Bowen therapist who will resolve the problem .

Bowen can be used on horses, but is primarily used on humans. Much less painful than other, well known therapies, as the muscle stimulation is gentle.

There is no need to use force, or crack backs and necks, when stimulating specific areas, will relax the muscles and the bodies will re set themselves.

I have recently replaced the k valve on my Prochem wand and find that this is a very soft action valve compared to the original cdi valve that was fitted.-John
