Anyone use a CLX clampless?
« on: October 12, 2012, 08:34:58 pm »
I'm thinking of getting a clx 27 but I'm wondering if it's possible to use it without clamps like I do with my Harris pole. I reckon all that clamping would definitely slow me down ;D

yes you could, I tried it the other day, but I don't think it would last long throwing it up and down like I do my harris clampless, but the clamps are that easy to use I am getting used to actually using clamps again

I suppose your right don't want to ruin an expensive pole, at £15 a time it doesn't matter with a Harris. They are quick though   ;D

CLX clamp adjustment probably costs about 10 seconds per house - I think I can live with it..

You just hold the pole hose where it comes out of the pole at the bottom, the actual hose inside the pole stops it collapsing. So when I get to a house I do upstairs first just throw the end of the pole out or put the brush head over a fence and pull. To do downstairs I just let go of the hose and the pole collapses instantly. I've found it a very quick way to work.

Doesn't the pole spin?

I use my harris with pole hose on outside cause i can add sections and when the pole is fully collapsed the ends stick enough out of bottom to hold them tight so no need to clamp it up when its down. Works well for me. I used to use it clampless but as hose on outside now, i cant.

No it doesn't spin, the shape of the brush keeps it pointing the right way.
