Hey all just wondering what you guys do for storing your portable and kit in winter

Have always been told you cant risk the chance of it freezing

I keep all my stuff (powr-flite 1350, wands and and hoses) inside and not only does it take up a lot of space but it also gives off an unsavoury smell

I dont have an attached garage or van

I dont trust anti freeze plus its faffy

Just wondering of any solutions and what you guys do

I bring mine in too.  Some people use small frost watchers but I always think it's best to do away with the risk.  I lost a small hand tool to the cold weather a few years ago!

Under the stairs in winter any part that has water in it.
Empty sprayers and leave them in van.
All solutions as well, pain in the ass but timed it and takes
7 minutes max to load/unload.
Worth it for piece of mind.
Once left a hand tool on outside step of a house in direct
sunlight and still had to dip it in a bucket of water to free it.

best place is under the stairs then whio cares what happens outside all ways had mine in the house even the front room when we had four vans out all the time

Do the solutions freeze? I only remove my equipment at night - should I remove all liquids if 0c is forecast?

two winters ago i lost a £600 pressure washer due to being caught out with the freeze. now it goes indoors every night if it looks like freezing.....  and it was the only winter i recall my actual chemicals freezing up on the van as well..........

Have a small oil filled rad to keep the back of the van warm...Also take porty / hand tools / chemicals out if the temp drops & leave in doors by the rads

I have a insulated shed with a oil filled radiator on frost protection and a fan heater on a timer to spread the heat

Luckily we have enough room under the stairs to keep both the ninja and the airflex, all the chems, wands and other bits and pieces there. Its only 5ft away from the front door and I can park the van right in front so its easy to load/unload.

I'm not so lucky, living in a first floor flat. I start the winter days lugging the porty down a flight of stairs, then all the rest of the stuff.  I am seriously thinking of putting antifreeze through it on the last job each day this winter. I would love to upgrade to a TM, but with no way of getting a heater to the van i'm stuck. Any thoughts on what the americans call winterizing a TM?
