Upholstery cleaning nightmare

Having almost finish cleaning this sofa, with one cushion left to clean, I looked back and realised my mistake :-)

If we are talking nightmares do what I did on Tuesday , cleaned a suite and did my usual amazing job :D

As I was cleaning the living room I didn't put any dust sheets down, (why should I , if I make a mess off the carpet it doesn't matter)

The overspray had lightly wetted the carpet, the suite had mohagany feet, I'm sure you can guess the result :'( :'( not just dye marks but huge stripes where we had pulled the suite across the carpet.

Luckily they cleaned out but I was crapping bricks as we cleaned the carpet,

A rookie mistake, not to be repeated.

Joking apart - I was panicking a bit when I saw the results of my 5 minute dye test, but it cleaned up fine using the low moisture shampoo method:

I saw one once where the suit had been "cleaned" by cowboys.

I moved it across the room and found a bleached, three sided rectangular mark that corresponded to the plan shape of the suite (imagine someone had painted a football goal post white then laid it down on top of the carpet).

I can only assume that it was high PH pre-spray that had dripped from the front and sides (they had obviously not sprayed the back!) on to the carpet.

Why bother doing a dye test on a single coloured fabric?
I would have HWE it, no problem.
