[Banbury Window Cleaning]

omfg i am still fuming!!!
when i started my round I had a fella who asked for a quote, i was a little high and he said he could guarantee to get me more work if I reduced his price a little.
so I did and true to his word he got my another 6 house all on the same street (all family members) well these turned out to be the biggest PIA custys ever!! not this month, why did you clean them in the rain, can i pay u next time and they all ALWAYS tried to haggle over the price etc etc etc
well turned up monday this week first house after they had been cleaned cancels and says can we call you when we need them done next? I replied with yeah course but a one off clean would be xxxx amount, second house (the daughter) comes running out and says pls not this month as her son is learning to ride his bike and the floor will be wet  by this point I am thinking I cant be arsed with this lot anymore but money needs to be made!! so onto the third house (brother of original bloke) no probs at all but tells me can I make sure when I clean the windows next its not going to rain!!??? WTF!!! how can I do that i asked??? now very pi**ed off i go to the forth house who owe my for 3 cleans now (£75) and I see them close the windows as i am driving towards the house........ so i knocked as wanted my money before i started cleaning them and I could clearly see them through the window!!!no answer!!  by then I thought sod that and went home for some lunch as I only live round the corner!! I didnt clean any more and dropped a note off saying I was owed for 3 cleans and will be round later to collect before I would clean them again!!Again, I saw them in when i went round to collect as one of the kids looked out the window when i knocked!! anyways countless visits and calls and txts later still no payment eventho I can be paid every way poss!! so quite annoyed still i decided to drive past last night on my way home from a little collecting i needed to do and boooooooom they were coming out of there house!! her and hubby just looked as me as my van screeched to a halt in the middle of the road. I proceed to get out and walk over to them when they replied soz we have been away and only just got back!! i told them i saw them in the other day when they didnt answer the door and that I was owed some money etc etc!!
well they had no money at all and hubby was off to work......... or so he thought!! I totally snapped then as completely sick of these custys taking me for a mug!! So i refused to move my van (blocking there car on the drive) until I was paid!!  OMFG they went mad!! I am only a window cleaner and there are plenty others they can get to do the job blah blah blah
So I told them to walk to the closest cash pod (abt 200 meters) to get my money as I aint moving then van!!! hubby then tells me he will get the rest of the family to cancel to whch my reply was....... I aint moving my van mate until I have been paid!! Now if you would like to go and get my money whilst your gone I am going to knock the houses I used to do to inform them I will no longer be coming round!!

i took my money cancelled the other house and went home for a beer
why do people think they can mess you around and not pay for a decent service!!?? I have never been so annoyed in my life with how this family thinks they can treat people!! After nearly 5 years of doing them houses I am well glad they are gone now!! I have never had sooooo much trouble getting paid before ever!! so I dumped 7 and need to pick up 14 right?? lol

great story.  the gall of those people is incredible, to tell you so many lies!!! it just amazes me that there are people like that.  its not like youre some big faceless company, they obviously have no empathy for anyone else

great story, i would have done the same, but unfortunately it is an offence to block anyone in.

i had this with a to**ser of a neighbour, i blocked him in over night, i actuately forgot, next day i had a knock on the door from the police telling me to move or else, the neighbour didn't move his car for another 3 days, so didn't need to get out.

is it a criminal offence if a customer has asked you to clean their windows  and has no intention of paying?

I used to do this but lost customers due to them thinking fecking hell how much am i spending on just a window cleaner every year

I feel your pain. I am still building up my run in Ireland, and, believe me, where I am this sort of 'customer' is common. Either that, or I seem to attract them!

At first it really did my head in, especially as I was starting from scratch again after selling off a run I had in England with customers who were, without exception, absolutely brilliant.

I quickly rid myself of the pond life now and move on before I allow them to stress me out. There are always good customers out there to be had, they just need to be found and looked after.

Get yourself a can of aerosol clear lacquer and give the window a good spray.

Oh i thought you can park across peoples drives now.the laws changed but i might be wrong i must google it.

Haha, of course it's not!

Yes it is.

If you take any goods or services with the intention of not paying, it's theft.

Finding you can't pay afterwards is a different matter.

So: Go to a petrol station, fill up and drive off and the police need to prove you had no intention of paying in order to prosecute you for theft.  Fill up and realise you've left your wallet at home and it's a civil matter.

Exactly the same law applies with us.  Getting it enforced is a different matter.
