HYDRAMASTER HELP
« on: August 28, 2012, 03:47:57 pm »
I think it is all to easy for people to moan about prices certain companies charge for parts.  Just the other day someone posted something about HydraMaster having over inflated prices.  Well, today i called HydraMaster UK for help / advice.  Bear in mind i personally haver not purchased ANYTHING from HydraMaster UK for years.  As some of you know i repair truckmounts for other people.  Today i got a call from a guy regarding his Boxxer 421. I said what i think the problem may be then called HydraMaster UK for their opinion.  Martin came on the line, Martin started by making pleasant conversation (like asking how i was and what i had been up to as rang for several months).  Then we got to the question i needed to ask.  Again, i got clear answers.

Now, as i said, i have not purchased ANYTHING from HydraMaster UK for years but still, they were more than happy to help out.  Great service, great company to deal with.  So, how many companies offer the help and support that HydraMaster UK do?  Not many i can tell you that for sure.  They go that extra mile every time.  Next time you want to moan about prices think about the after sales service, think about the help and advise they give over the phone (free of charge)

that's OK then....... they give good advice so can over-charge.

but i never ring them for advice why should they over charge me?

were they not going to start charging for advice?...... that if you didn't buy from them they wouldn't be so helpful.

BUT!!! I don't buy large items off them so have not really noticed if their prices or exorbitant

Thing is Mike, take a look at prices in general in the CC trade, companies that sell machines and other things do tend to have higher prices but not all of them offer the same help and advice as HydraMaster.  Yeah sue you can buy XYZ somewhere cheaper but that company will deal directly in that XYZ product and will buy in at large quantities.  The likes of HydraMaster wont have hundreds of XYZ in stock so they themselves will pay higher prices.  The whole CHARGE FOR ADVICE thing was something that was going to be a trial thing which they later abandoned.  It was not a case of if you dont buy from them they wont be so helpful.

Derek discounted means up the price by 40% then give your suppliers or preferential customers a 25% 'discount'

usually used by plumber merchants to rip off the general public, My plumber mate buy from our local merchants and get a 20% discount if I go in I pay full price...... my mate is not getting a discount he is paying the right price, but  I get ripped by a 20% over charge

same as van manufacturers . out to fleece u . but i dont see why people are bothered about it . i bought my transporter from vw but i wouldn't buy a part from them as u can buy  vw parts cheaper elsewhere . just dont buy parts  from hydramaster if u can find it cheaper elsewhere and u can fix it yourself . and like vans and cars there are lots of places that fix machines who are not manufacturers . im not not knocking manufacturers. in general they make brilliant equipment but do charge over the odds but the after sales service should come as part of their service wether u bought a machine from them or not . if u got a query about their machine then the very least they can do is answer it . after all their the ones who made it and  sold it in the first place

Always seem to be decent enough to me, I rang a few weeks ago about 4pm  and got the advice it was the regulator on my 421 (i didn't buy the  TM direct either) they had one in stock & delivered before 12 next day up and running. Yes at £80 it was about 20% more than a part from another jet washer parts supplier but they don't have a clue about TM's let along diagnosing a fault over the phone and what's to say the one they could supply will fit the space and work properly as teh HM one had a panel mounting.

Remember if you don't buy from these suppilers they will close and then you have less choice overall.

If you call up Hydramaster and get problems diagnosed it's just common decency to buy the part from them.

Apart from that with the way the Internet works these days, any company would be foolish to fob you off, especially if you are well known/respected on the forums because its the forums that keep some of these suppliers in business.

very true, I do think as a whole there a lot of penny pinching that goes on, and we forget that our suppliers generally live and breath this industry, and whats more hold a load of stock so we don't have to, So i'm always happy to pay, Plus like the garage that services our vans they are more likely to put one out of the hat for you if you give them frequent business.

Do HM machines use a demand pump system like prochem?

I have a problem with the square D it’s and got me beat, manufacture ant got a clue what I’m on about! Simple power on it doesn’t start, but touch the electrodes it dose

I haven’t got a problem in spending money its tax deductible
