Anyone used these?

Which ones best for everyday use?

Are they to weedy compared to vikan?

It's my brush of choice now, they are very lightweight and much better bristle displacement than a vikan angled or standard brush, the extra angle helps with awkward windows and is a must for Georgian style windows.

For everyday maintainance cleans we use the medium dual trim as the soft just won't cope with hot water usage (if you don't use hot the soft would be fine) for new cleans or con roofs etc we use the hard, it's not as abrassive as the hard vikan brushes but can be used with extremely hot water which is great on those minging first cleans, we use both of those brushes on the carbon gooseneck from Gardiners.

On the real downside they only last around three months as the sides wear out quickly due to the fact we clean right to the brickwork, it wears the plastic sides out and you loose quite a few bristles.

Alex looks like he's bringing out a rubber bumper for the standard Gardiner brushes I'm just hoping he'll do the same for these as well as this will cure this niggling issue.

This is exactly the same as my experience.  We use the same brushes, they are very good but they wear out fast fast fast.  after 2 months they have lost whole bristle clusters and after 3 they need replacing. 

on a plus, we cause less damage with them as the headstock is so slim

We have lost LOADS of bristles on our stiff sill brushes, they are awful, also on the medium ones we have lost a lot, nowhere near as much as the stiff ones though.

Spoken with Gardiners, and it's been diagnosed as wear and tear, even though they are about 2 months old, and can no longer be used.

The medium trim ones have been used for easy 6 months and have lasted a lot better.

The old standard brushes lasted a lot longer and although not as great for sills, I feel better value and we will probably revert back to them.

I have use one from the they come on the market I like them but they need more development.
I feel the need some more bristles in the ( ends)shoulder of the at an angle out to the sides to stabilize the brush in the glass from the wobbling feeling, like one has on a 10 inch brush and if they were courser like the orange bristles on s white brush. These shoulder bristle should splay sideways.This would make it a very good brush.

After reading this thread, I will not be investing in Gardiners sill brushes.

We use a vikan brush and dont have any issue with it what so ever. The weight of it is not an issue as were both on steriods, so welcome the extra weight

A few years down the line of using a vikan sill brush regularly, you will probably have developed RSI. It is not your muscles but joints, tendons and ligaments that will be damaged.

Appreiciate your concern, but I dont find it difficult of challenging using a vikan?

I have used them in the past and still do for conny roofs and leaded windows, but I would not want to use one as my regular brush.

i bought the soft cill brush and the heavy duty cill brush lat friday

the soft cill brush is for maintanence cleans only  soft and light i tried it wednesday on windows  5 years not cleaned  the brush did not even take the dirt off just a test never again  

i used the heavy duty straight off no problems

i used the soft on maintanence cleans all week very fast very light but the jets are 3 quarters to the top off the brush an not in the middle  bit different

heavy duty brush on lean too and consevatories light and scrubs very well havent lost any bristles but i have only used it 3 times

I think we've all got to remember that even though they wear out fast compared to ther brushes that are being used to scrub dirt and grime and over time will just be to dirty to use. I personally prefer to replace a brush every three months, maybe Gardiners should introduce a reward scheme for frequent buyers of brushes I,e you buy three and get one half price etc...

Yes, good brush but they wear out very, very quickly I put some protective end caps on to help extend the life a bit but the rubber bumpers would be a good idea. I have lost a whole row of bristles off the end in only 3 months!!!!!
Oh and obviously the brush is a lot smaller now too.

[/quote]If you wanted to invest a few hundred thousand pounds over several years on a study of wfp's  you might get the evidence.

Personally I listen to what my body tells me.

Everytime there is a thread on here about various types of joint aches there is no shortage of replies from those who have been wfp for a few years. IMO prevention is better than cure. This is my personal opinion, but that is all posts are really.

The trouble is people don't want to spend a few pounds on good equipment, they rather get ackes and pains than spending money.
