I was wondering if carpet cleaning is good in the winter months or are people more likely to have it in the summer or in January after Christmas as I have set up and this will be my first winter so just wondering what to expect?

Traditionally, it starts to build up from September to being manic by Christmas. Then a quiet spell and a good steady supply of work as Spring kicks in.
I did say traditionally because these past few years, I've found, that there is no telling how it goes.

I don't think Xmas run in is as busy as it used to be I remember when it used to start late October and go on to 23 December 12-14 hours a day 6-7 days a week but January was a great time to go on holiday as the phone never rang.

I used to work for a mate of mine for Jan and 1/2 Feb in the engineering. Saved my sanity and kept things afloat.
Nowadays I find next to no difference in the seasons except it is a bit busier before Christmas. Gave up sawing steel!!

Same as above, steady March-September then ramps up to very busy Nov-Dec, then Jan & Feb a nice relaxing couple of months :)

Or another way of saying that is - January and February are dead just when you need to pay the tax man  :(

Jan, Feb March - busy ;D

April May June - very busy ;D ;D

July thru December - stupidly busy. ;D ;D ;D

Not complaining-just wish my body had a chance to rest sometimes though. :'(

PS August now seems to be my record breaking month. Will set yet another new record this month for the 4th year running.

PPS Steve-go limited then your tax is payable only annually 9 months after your year end. pick your year end with care though. :o

Similar to Roger, Jan and August are our busiest month,
April tends to be a quiet month.

Seriously thinking myself of going ltd, accountant keeps telling me to do so every year,
then he can charge me more  :'(

In the early nineties some one rang me at noon Christmas Eve. She said 'Well it said in the paper to ring to get things done before Christmas.' - a month before.

Seems that the xmas run up isnt as busy as it used to be..

Had a very busy july and august again and that is our busiest time now rather than the xmas months.

Hi guys there is no doubt that carpet is essential need of every house. When your carpets are clean and your cushions are straight, the whole house looks great. As one of the biggest investments in your home, one of the key factors in maintaining a fresh, healthy indoor environment and a key factor in creating a home that is welcoming to visitors.

Good Luck

You should have taken it as a booking for the following Xmas :-)

Normally super slow for many cleaners for Jan/Feb but things start picking up in Spring time, only problem though is that there is 100s of POPUP carpet cleaners every Spring time...
