How do you pre warn a customer....
« on: August 15, 2012, 07:57:46 pm »
... that an old urine stain will be a bit darker for a while after cleaning?

I cleaned in a nice property yesterday. Lots of carpets and the tiles and grout in the large kitchen. Took all morning to do.

I get a call on voice mail today that I left sissors behind. ( I always seem to leave something!). Also that an old cat stain behind the door that is an orange colour. I dont think I even knew that the old stain was there, and so it had exactly the same treatment as the rest of the carpets which he is happy with.

It has happened before, and perhaps you may find the same, that in cleaning we "resurect" old spillages and stains that have been there for an age, and then get called back even though it's not our fault.

It almost seems as if its best not to even try too hard on old "ground in stains" as we get the blame?

Any thoughts on what to say to a customer beforehand, that old stains may be more visable for a while after cleaning?
Thanks

Hi Benny d

We all ways pre warn customers about old stains, the reason for this the customer never tells the truth ie (no we have not used vanish or 1001 ) untill the wife digs abit more... ;D

One of the jobs we did yesterday the lady had used a slug doctor, then vanish powder the week before the carpet was still minging & now smelling of dogs (she has no dogs)...When we look at the carpet it was stain all over it look like the slug doctor left its trail behind (should have took a picture of it). After pre treating stains getting the pile to stand up again in front of the sofas then we cleaned it. It came up a treat the wife called the lady to have a look (she said f*** me it looks like a new carpet) Also she ask if we can stain guard it which we did for her plus we got a  fiver tip  ;)

Also we left our waste bucket at the house  ;D
