Another fine job by Luca at Bossdog. Well worth the drive from Cornwall to Surrey and back.

Cheers Goron

Kev this is the 4th van i have had done by him. and he is very good at what he does. He has an amazing reputation.

Like i said i drive from Cornwall to use him and he never lets me down.

Can't understand why you would "sack" him. What was wrong?

Well it has taken him 2 weeks to come up with a curved stripe and a bit of text! So I am really not happy.

I e mailed him everything I wanted (hell I even do my own graphics to a reasonable standard) and he a) not only didnt read my e mails properly so I had to repeat myself but b) he essentially wanted me to design it all myself (or hinted to get a professional graphic artist to do it) so that all he had to do was move bits around and it was done (seemed that way anyway).

He showed no passion that I could tell and it appeared like he couldnt really be bothered (Luca, if you read this I apologise but can only post my experience with you). Now thats not really my job (or any customer's), I needed someone to design a concept afterall. His grammer was also poor and I had to tell him he spelt things wrong.

He also wanted a £50 deposit (which I have now lost), and although left very amicably he hasnt bothered to call me or e mail me if anything is wrong (I havent told him he was sacked, I just wont go back).

In stark contrast, I have hired a company about 35 mins away and they have been brilliant (with no deposit). Its taken 7 days to come up with my design in my head and they have done it all. They even asked us to visit them to confirm colours (against the van) etc.

Plus they are cheaper!

If I get time I will post bossdogs design and then the company I am going with.

Goron - isnt yours a replica of what you have had for a while now? so was this just a case of re-printing and sticking it on?

p.s. other people may have had fantastic service from him - so please speak to other people who have had work done by them - this is just my experience!

Unfortunatly I had the same with Luca. ( I had to contact four companies before I got one that wanted to do my job! It was £ 650-00 so not a small job I dont think ).

I just could not get him to contact me, so I gave up and had it done even more locally to me.

I use a company in Cardiff, Moonsigns. Math designed just about every thing I asked for just with a few ideas from my good self. I would recommend them to anyone in the Cardiff area. I don't know how to put pics on here otherwise I would.

So I think we have established that Luca at Bossdog is crap.
Thanks for the warning, I will avoid him like the plague.

While were on the subject of terrible companys, avoid Web Creation UK. Once they have your deposit safe in the bank, they hand you to a non english speaking, reading person in Pakistan. The quality of the work they provide is worse than a DIY web building site. They hope and pray you'll bu***r off after you've paid the deposit and seen how badly they do web design.

I cant believe anyone would drive a round trip of around 520 miles (approx 11 hours) just to have a van sign written not forgetting the fuel cost and a your time. Thats just madness.  High quality sign writers are everywhere.    I have heard before that BossDog are useless at contact and not overly helpful.

This thread shows the power of social media and how it can affect a business. like it or not we have to be aware of how we treat people.

Just a couple of disgruntled customers and it can snowball (it does not have to be true in some cases).

Like I said this is the 4th van I have had done by them. The cost including fuel is less than a third of what i have been quoted by companies down here.

I always get good work done by them, and the signage on the first van that they did some 6 or seven years ago now is still looking good apart from where the big van has had to go into some not so big lanes.

Kevin yes it is a virtual replica to the last vans but why wouldn't it be the design is a proven and recognised one, it just has to be cut to fit the different models.

Cheers Goron

so to sum up,

if you need a design for your van, don't go to bossdog.
if you have a design. then it seems bossdog is cheap and the graphics last.

there, everyones happy. ;D

I bet they are so busy They could'nt care less what a bunch of carpet cleaners on an Internet forum say.

Usually the time customer service goes down is when work is in abundance.

Mike - I think your right in what you say 8)

Goron - no problem mate, I wasnt critisizing. I didnt realise that it was more expensive down your neck of the woods!

Derek - I'm not so sure on the lasting - maybe its hit and miss? I had an e mail yesterday from someone who is on the forum but doesnt want to post (understandable) and he said that his graphics are lifting on the curves because Luca assured him that they would last using the cheaper vinyl ::) This chap really isnt happy - but I cant say who it is!

I think at the end of the day, its what people are hapy with though tbh.
