Lazy
« on: August 07, 2012, 12:42:37 pm »
Today I turned up at my first house feeling lethargic. I sat in the van just around the corner for a few minutes and just couldn't be bothered. I drove home with the intention of getting some breakfast then leafleting. I had my breakfast and drove to where I was going to drop leaflets when it started raining. I wited in the van for it to stop then drove home. I didn't drop one. I feel really lazy and guilty despite the fact that I haven't taken a day off or months.

anybody whos been in this business for a while deserves a few days off here and there mate.ok its not like working in a factory 40 hours a week but its hard work and sometimes we re just not up for it!your not a machine!dont feel guilty just accept that it happens from time to time.

i went to work for 9am and i was home at 1015am as the rain was torrential.i was planning on going back this afternoon but i knew id struggle to get my scheduled work done today so ill be at it fresh tomorrow.

then i will have thurs/fri/sat/sun off as im straight up with work.all 340 customers are up to date.

i was planning on having my work done today so i would have 5 straight days off but sometimes our best laid plans dont materialise!

on the plus side the weather here in the north west is set to improve a lot over the next few days.

a lot of customers are on holiday as well so cashflow is not as good as usual but again its not a major problem.ill get paid in the end!! ;) ;D ;D

best wishes to you all

Its because you don't like windows steve.

It is pretty common amongst people in the window cleaning trade so as said before, don't beat yourself up about it.

I never take time off durring the week but I did the other week. It turned out to be one of the hottest days and I just sat in the garden and read me book. The next day I felt like I had been on holiday.
I just needed the time off. We all do from time to time

I got up this morning as usual at 7.30am to be out at 9am with a full days work planed.

I'm still thinking I really must get going but instead of putting my boots on and getting out the door, I somehow ended up in the kitchen and made yet another cup of tea and here I am, sitting here drinking it.

It's one of those days where I feel as flat as a pancake but I know if I get going, after the first job I'll be fine. This is ridiculous, all I have to do is get going yet I just keep sitting here.

The stupid thing is I'm trying to think of valid excuses for not working as if I need to fool myself.

I left at about midday. Got to the first job, sat in the van and then thought sod it, I'll do some leaflets instead. After driving around for a while I decided I was trying to fool myself in a way similar to what Steve posted in the original posting.

So I went for a walk along the cliff tops to the east of Brighton (where I live). I took my flask and sandwiches with me and enjoyed every minute of it. Just me, loads of open space, the sea and seagulls. What a great way to spend a few hours.

It's definitely too late now to go and do a few jobs even though I could if I wanted.

Shocking!

Seriously though, today I worked hard and was raring to go.
