CT not fit for purpose
« on: July 31, 2012, 09:13:23 pm »
Oh what a job! Regular customer in her new biggg house.
Upstairs carpets a breeze and then came the living nightmare, an 8x10 Crucial Trading mat rug, no sorry it is a mat really, in one of the living rooms. The 'new' dog had done what new dogs do and left several pee areas and he's had a small issue with a runny bum too!
Lifted said mat up to find it had rubber cum latex backing on it too so we had all the combinations for a first class disaster zone, oh and not forgetting the cotton edging too
Yes we all know what should happen when we wet said item, so asked customer how much she likes her 8x10 piece of trash before confirming that we all understood each other on what might happen, and who's fault it wouldn't be
Anyway, no change on urine or poo stains (expected) and I even managed to keep it to 8x10
BUT
Why do people buy this totally unpractical trash, and the cost of this piece of trash 6 weeks ago...... £1,000

I even looked on the CT website and it said as much itself about what will permanently damage it..... in a word water and anything contained within water.  :o

What is ct ? you know the name of one of the thousands of people that import and distibute flooring in this country.
Was it a seagrass product, coir, wool, sisal or jute ? probably by now they are importing some of the polypropylene natural lookalikes.
Floring descriptions are precise and definitive. A crucial trading product is like describing a tesco roll of toilet paper. You could have bought the toilet roll from any shop, But in 1 in 10 cases your description would be correct.
When you try to impress the customer with your product knowledge it is better to do it in an educated way, because when people invest into something they often know a little about it, so if you talk about altro when they have bought polysafe, or marley or halsteads or one of the other many brands out there you will look a dick.
I know we all like to impress on others our knowledge of the products that we encounter but sometimes misimformation becomes so widely used that it becomes fact. It is like doctors saying that alchohol impairs the effects of antibiotics. Most people believe it, doctors keep sayiung it,on it goes.
Belgian wiltons they make 100% wool  80-20 s and polypropylenes so what is the correct description. The correct description is what it is composed of not where it is made.
crucial trading is an importer and distributor of flooring like many thousands of others that you do not know the name of.
I have spent most of my life in the flooring industry and the product ranges are vast there are lot of manufacturers and it takes time to understand, reading the posts on here will often lead to a lot of the confusion that exists.

You mean Dr Pompous Pete.  ;D

Some antibiotics will make you VERY ill if you drink alcohol with them.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.
