Hi I don't do window cleaning any more but have a pole for the external gutter cleaning and conservatory valets, anyway I just cleaned my windows at home I moved in here in march and haven't got round to doing them what with all the other jobs to be done.

they are pvc and where thick green, with moss growth on the sills, they where like it when we moved in any way just got the pole out and some de-greaser thick black muck coming off big green lumps of moss you know the ones where the moss is stuck it the bristles of the brush and ends up all over the windows. they have come up really well. there white again.

all i done is rinsed off with the hose straight from my garden tap onto the pole I was going to get the ladder out and trad the glass afterwards. well I don't think I'm going to bother there spotless. there is some slight spotting on the kitchen window but otherwise really clean how can this be I don't know what the tds is but we have really hard water in Norwich and I am assuming it is very high tds.

I cleaned approximately 1/4 of a hospital in blackpool yesterday with tds of over 100 because I didn't know my resin needed changing.

Needless to say it had to be done again and I found the whole experience very distressing.

I know I only used tap water to rinse off the de-greaser the plan was to trad them after as I don't have pure.
don't get me wrong I'm not planning on cleaning with tap water although I'm not going to trad them either.

My tap water tds is over 328 ppm so think it would spot just a bit

However harvested filtered pure rainwater does not leave spots. I wonder why that is?

Sorry I've not replied been visiting the parents for the weekend.

I swear to you that was tap water straight off my garden hose From my outside tap, not rain water why would I come on here to ask you lot otherwise?

I have no clue what my tds is as I don't have a tds meter.

The degreaser is from macros its there own brand select it's actually designed as a degreaser for commercial kitchens but its good gear and its cheap £8 something for 2x 5ltr containers I ran out of tfr last week and needed something and was near macros so thought i would try it as there was nothing else in there i done a conny roof with it last week came up really well.

I've had good results on second cleans androgynous higher than 0 on the tds.

A degreaser maybe makes the tap water run off before it gets chance to dry ergo no marks. Sound like it takes all types of stubborn garden carl.

I'll certainly look out for my local makro now and try it on my own house and report back.

How much did you use and does it require diluting?  How many terrace houses do you estimate 2 canisters would wash.

If you use any type of degreaser on glass you either have to rinse well with pure or blade off. Simples….
There was also a lot of hype about ecover washing up liquid drying out spot free but found that was a load of twaddle too.

Ive not even used a litre of it yet and that was my windows and the conservatory roof I think it dilute 20-1 i will have a look later.

You are spot on (no pun intended) with your Ecover dish washing liquid in the water comment. Absolute rubbish that stuff. Actually, wasn't any good for washing dishes either - fairy is miles better.

I sometimes wonder about backdoor advertising.
