Hi all
Im in my first year and this is my first big summer period ,what i would like to know is now that the kids have broke up for there 6-7 weeks hols ,does it affect the amount of work coming in as ive gone fairly quiet for the last few days.This is all new to me

Probably people with kids would wait till there back at school so it will be quieter i'd of thought.

Its been a funny year, the months when im normally flat out have been quiet and vice versa.
It will pick up for you.
This is my best ever July since 1993 and May was my worst May since 1993.
Maybe the weather has a lot to do with it, and this year Google havent helped either.

Augst for us is very busy as is Jan,
what you need to think is who needs there carpets cleaned this time of year ?
yes kids are at home, which means schools are empty for there longest period,
often having building work/repairs done, ideal time for a carpet clean

Phone hasn't shut up all day today and yesterday since the sun came out, but survived July on longer-range bookings and a few bits n bobs - the phone calls have been noticeably less whilst it's been peeing down.  I'm well booked up till the end of next week and a fair few other jobs in through August.

A lot of my work is regulars so if they haven't gone for their usual month of the year they'll slot in later, so it doesn't so much affect my annual turnover, just shifts it around a bit and I have a few crazy periods throughout the year.  Last year I was proper worried in October, but had a record turnover for November/December pre-Xmas rush and the numbers balanced out again.

Must say also july has been one of my busiest it has been for years..

Got some schools to clean so thats a good few weeks solid.

For many its the holliday time too so thats why its a bit quieter for you steve.

I suppose its all part of the learning curve, just gonna keep banging out the leaflets and hope for the best

well shaun im not the type to sit on me back side ,so more back links for site and try and get 500 leflets out tomorrow ! .Not doing to bad for my first year ,getting between 2-3 jobs a week

Andrews right this time of year marketing takes a turn to the industry, factory shut downs, Schools, colleges, varsities and the big one student lets- Contact your local varsity/college to see who manages the accommodation cleaning?  it is also the time to get into night time cleans of function halls, hotels we can go on and on
There is plenty of work out there just go for it, dont wait for google, ads or mail drops personnaly vist thes places with a price guidline and talk talk talk face to face not many doing that now so you have the upper hand :
