Hi,

As title have microbore 6mm, had about 3 months use out of it.

Today reeling it in i noticed a few points along the hose where yellow bit on hose has wore away to white brading underneath.

Thought i was fairly careful.

Worried about springing a leak; got some gorrila tape onboard will that plug a leak?

What's the hardest wearing microbore do you think?

We have sprung 3 leaks this week, lucky enough they have been close to the end each time so we have only lost about 2 meters ish but im also intrested to know what the most robust hose is?!

Give the office a call and send us a photo and we can authorise a replacement as this should not be the case. Even though it is not leaking as it is only the outer surface it still should perform better than this and in such cases we will always replace the hose.

i use the gardiners thermobore(orange).its fantastic hose and very tough.granted its a lot more expensive but you get what you pay for.

not much james!!my pump,controller and battery are from pure freedom though!!

everything else regarding wfp equipment is from gardiners including my tank and reel!!

Have you ever thought ALL window cleaning equipment is a bit poop.

The only thing i think is remotely reliable is pumps, although I have replaced about 8 over the years.

Is it all one giant headache ?

yep would agree , most kit is not really any good at all REALLY.

had a lad phone in today that his new pole hose had sprung a leak and its only 2 weeks old   and he is really really careful..

Not really, however, nothing seems to be built to last considering the high costs. Carbon poles are great but somehow you think it's the wrong material for the job - wears far too fast, metal hosereels seem good, brushes are ok but bloody expensive, controllers - varistream seem to be going through a bad patch at the moment, pole hose seems to be poor, microbore varies although Gardiners thermobore seems good so far, rectus fittings - dodgy to say the least. Pumps seem good and often get replaced for no reason. Batteries very poor for our work. Pole end caps are like paper. Pole clamps wear far too quickly. RO units seem trouble free and booster pump has been running for five years day in day out (when it's supposed to be turned off every hour).

Get rid of your 8 WFP vans then and go back to maintaining just your own van and life would be so much sweeter - you know it appeals!

Saying that, I had 2 systems fitted by Alex 3 years ago., and they have been 100% trouble free, apart from one connector which needed replacing recently, so well done on that score,

Now we just have to make the rest better, although it is all improving slightly,

Now heres a suprise at 7.00 am in the morning, i Just had a phone call off one of my lads 30 miles away, in a van i fitted out myself which has been working fine for the last 3 months, who says his pump is pulsing, finally got it sorted after 20 mins trying to explain to him how to get into the cal setting

one thing that i think has probably been the most reliable thing i have had i a while has to be the rectus 26 connecters, i haven't replaced any yet and i have been using them six months !
